Seismica brings the USGS earthquake catalog to iPhone, iPad and Mac. Find events in a region, inspect their details, and save a study you can return to later.
SEARCH THE AREA THAT MATTERS
Browse a world map with earthquake markers and active fault lines. Search for a place, use the map's current view, or choose a center and radius. Filter by magnitude, explore the past day, week or 30 days, or select a historical date range.
UNDERSTAND EACH EVENT
See the reported magnitude and its scale, depth, coordinates, origin time and review status. Compare local time with UTC and check when the catalog record was updated. Read available shaking-intensity information, then open the full USGS report inside the app.
SAVE A STUDY
Save an event or a named search with a frozen copy of its records. Reopen saved records offline or explicitly run the search again for current information. Your original saved study remains intact.
EXPORT WITH CONTEXT
Export events as CSV for a spreadsheet, or export a GeoJSON study containing records, search criteria, source and retrieval time. Import a Seismica GeoJSON study on another device to revisit the same observations.
KNOW WHAT YOU ARE SEEING
The catalog shows its source, retrieval time and search window. A search returns up to 1,000 newest matching events and clearly labels a limited response. Refresh failures keep the previous results available. Unknown measurements remain unknown.

Sort by time or magnitude, step through events with the timeline player, and choose your map style and fault-line appearance. The map and list work together on iPad and Mac, with a compact map-focused layout on iPhone.
