■ Translation progress indicator • The progress indicator now appears the moment you tap the translate button, and disappears only after the translated image has actually appeared on screen. • Previously it vanished before translation even began, leaving you unsure whether anything was happening. • Fixed an issue where, on pages with several images, the indicator disappeared as soon as the first image finished. It now stays until every image is done. ■ Stopping a translation • Tapping the close button inside the progress indicator stops the translation immediately and returns everything to its initial state. You can start translating again right away. • Translations that finish late no longer appear on screen after you have stopped. ■ Progress indicator that would not go away • Cleaned up every path that left the progress indicator stuck on screen: when the translation returned nothing, when the image format could not be read, when a file could not be loaded, and when you left the page. • Previously you had to quit and reopen the app in these situations. ■ Manga translation on more sites that did not work before • Added support for manga viewers that split an image into pieces and redraw it on screen. • Fixed an issue where some manga sites would not translate at all because the app could not obtain the original image. • Fixed an issue where only one side was translated when two pages were shown side by side. Both pages are now translated. ■ Other improvements • Reworked how the colors around speech balloons are sampled, reducing the brief stutter that occurred during translation. • Fixed a problem where the zoom level could get out of step when zooming in or moving to another image. • Tidied up the messages shown when a translation fails so the cause is clearer.

Turn it on to reliably open sites that failed to load or kept dropping on certain networks. • Your choice is remembered and stays on the next time you open the browser. • While it is on, ad and tracker domains are blocked before they ever connect, so pages make fewer unnecessary requests. ■ Better comic viewer compatibility • Pages are now rendered as their mobile layout. Comic viewers behave the same as on iPhone, so sites that could not be translated before now work. • Fixed promotional images layered next to a comic page being translated instead of the page itself. The real page is now found correctly. ■ More accurate web image translation • The image detection engine was rebuilt, so images that used to be missed can now be translated. - Looks inside embedded frames and images built with unusual page structures. - Waits and retries for images that load only as you scroll. - Recognizes wide panels and other proportions that were skipped before. • Swapping the translated image back into place is more reliable. ■ Fixes • Fixed the progress indicator that could keep spinning when no translatable image was found or the image was too small. • When a translation fails, the app now tells you why.
