Might be eligible for comeback or most improved app of the year. The Rangers were forced to switch mid season and BZZR picked up the pieces and have steadily improved week after week. TV Apps are really good as is the iOS app as well. PiP finally works too!

This app is very promising and super fun, but there’s a few small things that make it not every-day usable. 1. The videos do not minimize and play when you open a text message or want to check and email or your fantasy team or any other number of things. That’s annoying and makes it hard for daily use bc I use my phone for stuff when listening to hour plus long podcasts.2. More smooth discovery of relevant content. Discovering something new feels clunky rn.

So you want to watch a game that started an hour earlier? You have to start at the live portion, see the current score and spoil everything, then rewind to the beginning.Want to watch a game that ended an hour or two ago? You have to start the “live” video, which will be four hours into a broadcast with nothing playing since the game is over. Then you rewind to the beginning while covering up the score with your hand and squinting so you don’t spoil anything. Then the rewind stops 15 minutes into the game, so you miss the first 15 minutes. Once you finally get started watching the game, the video will stop an hour into it and it’ll tell you that this game’s broadcast is now over and it’ll be available in the replay section soon. Then it’ll kick you off and you get to find the same game you were just watching in a different area of the app and it’ll start you over at the beginning. This is like they designed an app intentionally to be horrible. There’s no way anyone could be this bad at designing one accidentally.

I was forced to use this app when the Texas Rangers switched from Victory+ to BZZR mid season. We purchased a season pass to watch all RSN games. I would not have paid to use BZZR. We have an LG OLED TV with a fast processor and high speed fiber internet. We often experienced lag and had to exit the app. Often when I immediately reopened the app I would have to sign back in. There is not an LG app so I had to stream all games on my phone and AirPlay to my TV. We got so frustrated with this app that we paid for a month of Fubo rather than messing with BZZR toward the end of the season. That cost me a lot! If this is the option for a season pass for next season I would choose not to watch the Texas Rangers over using this app!
