New in 2.0: Netis is now Portolan. A fresh design, a dashboard with live page previews, and a notification when a local server starts or stops. Every port on your Mac, charted. Portolan lives in your menu bar and shows every web server and database running on your Mac. Click one to open it: web apps open in your browser, databases open in the client you already use. No more guessing which port the frontend landed on, or whether Postgres is still up from yesterday. IN THE MENU BAR • Every running service with a live thumbnail of the page • Web servers and databases in separate sections • A NEW badge on anything that started since you last looked • Hold Option to copy the address instead of opening it • Full keyboard and VoiceOver support A DASHBOARD FOR EVERYTHING • Cards with page previews, response times and one-click actions • Filter by web servers, databases or host, and search by name, port or framework • Grid or list view • JSON APIs show what they return instead of a blank page KNOWS WHAT'S RUNNING Portolan recognizes the frameworks and servers developers use every day: Vite, Next.js, Nuxt, React dev servers, Django, Flask, FastAPI (Uvicorn), Express, Strapi, Supabase, Hasura, PostgREST, n8n, Jupyter, Airflow, Kibana, Prometheus, Jaeger, Ollama, Mailhog, MinIO, Portainer, Nginx, Caddy, Traefik and more. Databases show up on their standard ports: PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Cassandra, ClickHouse, SQL Server and more. On other ports, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, RabbitMQ and Memcached are recognized by speaking their protocol. Portolan opens them in TablePlus, pgAdmin, Postico, Sequel Ace, MySQL Workbench, MongoDB Compass and others, or helps you find a client if you don't have one. ALERTS WHEN THINGS CHANGE Get a notification when a service starts or stops, with buttons to open it or copy its address. Handy when a dev server crashes in a terminal you can't see. BEYOND THIS MAC Add LAN addresses or Docker bridge IPs to scan other machines and containers. Each service opens at the right host and scheme. Add your own services and ports in Settings, so containers on unusual ports show up too. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Portolan only connects to the hosts you choose. No account, no tracking, and nothing about your servers leaves your Mac. Crash reports are sent only if you agree. Requires macOS 12 or later. Questions or ideas? roniger.co.il/contact
