Apple Creator Studio is an outstanding value for anyone serious about creative work. Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Motion, Compressor, and Pixelmator Pro already make this a powerful bundle, but what really surprised me is how much better Keynote, Pages, and Numbers feel with the added intelligent tools and premium features. On iPad Pro especially, these apps no longer feel like watered-down companions. They feel like real, professional tools. What I find most frustrating is the backlash to the subscription itself, because the value here is obvious. For the price, this is one of the best creative software bundles available anywhere. For working creators, the ability to subscribe when you’re actively producing and cancel when you’re not is a benefit, not a flaw. Apple didn’t cheapen these apps — it’s made them more accessible.
Subscriptions Are Not Cool To The OG Users

I’ve been using the original Pixelmator Pro for around 7–8 years and genuinely loved it. It was one of the few creative apps I always recommended because it felt polished, reliable, and fairly priced as a one-time purchase.Ever since Apple acquired the app and transitioned things into the new “Creator Studio” subscription model, I’ve unfortunately been running into a lot of issues — especially with vector paths, disappearing nodes, and inconsistent Pen tool behavior while editing. What’s frustrating is that these are some of the most fundamental tools for vector work, and I honestly never experienced these kinds of problems in all the years I used the original version.I do want to give credit where it’s due: the redesign looks great, the updated Apple-style UI feels clean and modern, and having the Pen tool on the iPad version is a really nice addition. The app still has a lot of strengths, and you can tell there’s effort being put into the ecosystem. That said, it’s disappointing to see such a strong one-time-purchase app become tied to a subscription bundle. What used to be roughly a $30 app has effectively turned into a much more expensive monthly commitment if you want access to the latest version. Not only do you have to subscribe to the entire “Creator Studio” with apps that you will most likely never use depending on what you do, its the price itself and it’s the broader trend that feels discouraging — so many amazing creative tools are moving toward very expensive subscriptions while simultaneously becoming less stable and less reliable for longtime users.I still have a lot of appreciation for Pixelmator and the years I enjoyed using it, which is honestly why these issues are so disappointing in the first place. I really hope the developers prioritize fixing the vector editing bugs and restoring the level of stability that made the original version so great.
Pulling me away from Adobe

Photoshop was one of the last Adobe products that kept me with a subscription to their services, as all of my design assets were more or less stuck in the ecosystem.I have never used Pixelmator Pro before the release of Apple Creator Studio, so I thought I’d give the free trial a shot. I was pleased to see that all of my assets opened, nearly natively, in Pixelmator Pro, while still being fully understandable. The only things I had to change here and there were text bounding boxes, as well as line spacing, but this was minimal.Well done Pixelmator team, you’ve made one hell of an editor. You’ve gotten me away from Adobe.
wow Apple, great subscription, however …

App is great I’m excited learning how to use this, much cheaper than adobe suite, However I want to be able to customize the order of list, for example I wish I plade levels/histogram at the top of the color adjustments so I can see what I’m doing as I’m changing the white balance, or hue, contrast etc. I need to be able to customize this list, or any list in this app to make it easier to see my adjustments without going up and down. I also wish this had a content hub so I can make place ai images or stickers like canva. All that said…. Great app. This subscription makes all other subscriptions I’ve tried not worth it ; affinity, adobe, even the free one. Having this on my iPad Pro with My Apple Pencil and being able to switch from Mac and iPad between projects… chef kiss from the gods.
