This is by far the most realistic sounding electronic drummer I’ve ever used. I dig the “jam” slider, it really gives a lot of realistic feel with the fills and variations on the beat. Being able to quickly set the number of bars for the fills is also very nice. The sound of the drums are fabulous as well. Overall, it is super impressive. I play guitar & bass along with a guitar synth and am having a blast using this along with Loopy Pro! Thanks for a great product.
swing feature seems broken

overall I really like this app and it seems pretty simple and intuitive. However it's almost a dealbreaker for me the way they handle swing feel. Often times with the beats when I turn the swing up it doesn't seem to do anything, and when it does it just creates some weird timing problems. It also seems to default to 16th note swing rather than the traditional eighth note swing and I can't figure out how to change that. Also not sure what I was doing but sometimes the rhythm tap button would just stop working randomly and I would have to start a whole new song track before it would work again. This could be an amazing app if they get the swing feature more functional as well as eliminating some of the other minor issues.

Hi nvfhitsdhiokhgde,Thank you for your kind words and detailed feedback! In Pop Drummer, the swing knob applies to 16th-note subdivisions by default. To get that classic 8th-note shuffle feel, set your desired swing amount, then tap New Groove → Adapt Current Groove, this will restructure the pattern into a traditional swung feel while keeping your core groove intact.Regarding the Tap Tempo button becoming unresponsive, we're looking into this and will address it in a future update. In the meantime, fully closing the app from the app switcher and reopening it should restore functionality right away, no need to start a new song track. We appreciate you sticking with us and sharing such constructive feedback. Your input helps us make Pop Drummer even better!Thank you for your review.
Awesome

This app was exactly what I was looking for a bassist writing and working out song ideas that I then take to my band. The UI is a little awkward at first but once you know how it works it’s got everything you need from creating your own patterns and arranging songs to swapping out the drums sounds on existing grooves and editing those patterns. I would love to see additional beats and kits!
Has potential!

The list of pros includes: a responsive developer who actually listened to the anti-SaaS critique (aka poor musicians lol) and made it a one-time buy instead; AUv3 and has MIDI; iPhone layout instead of 1.5 pt. narrow serif font like some others…Things that could improve: most notably the midi implementation, as I can only get it to work as a midi source for a couple of apps (Hammerhead, Audiokit 909 Drums) while apps like FAC Drumkit and 4pockets’ Digistix don’t appear to receive MIDI for some odd reason. I was a longtime fan of Rollerchimp’s DrumStudio app because of the the selection of groove styles and midi out. This app could easily replace it - and then some - if the items mentioned were addressed as well as midi stability/jitter as well. Don’t care about the built in kits as much tbh. I just need a funky robot drummer. Thanks for reading!

Thanks a lot for your detailed feedback. We’re glad you enjoy the feel and features of Pop Drummer, and we’ll take note of your comments on MIDI implementation and stability, it’s definitely an area we’re working to improve. Your support and insights are very valuable to us.
