SimShockPad

Hemodynamic Simulator.

Free · Designed for iPad

A hemodynamic simulation game. One critical patient, live vital signs and decisions against the clock. New cockpit mode. Five languages. SimShockPad is a hemodynamic simulation game. It is not a teaching or instructional tool, nor a clinical simulator. It is a game, in the same sense that a home flight simulator is one: faithful in spirit, carefully built, but a game. It replaces nothing and does not claim to. One critical patient. Vital signs moving in real time. And very little margin. The patient may arrive with acute heart failure, massive haemorrhage or septic shock. Each scenario behaves differently, and what works in one can sink the patient in another. You decide what to do, and how fast. TWO INTERFACES, ONE ENGINE Choose between the classic interface and the new cockpit mode, styled like a flight deck: analogue needle instruments, a multi-function display, a warning light panel and infusion levers with continuous dosing. Switch between them whenever you like, without losing the game. WHAT YOU CAN ORDER IN COCKPIT MODE Request tests and wait for them to come back, as in real life: · Blood gas — pH, pCO₂, pO₂, bicarbonate, base excess, saturation · Lactate — rises fast, clears slowly · Blood count — haemoglobin, haematocrit, white cells, platelets · Echocardiogram — ejection fraction, vena cava, contractile pattern · Swan-Ganz catheter — wedge pressure, cardiac output, resistance The catheter unlocks three readings that stay dark without it: you cannot read what has not been measured. WHAT YOU HAVE AT HAND Noradrenaline, dobutamine, dopamine, nitroglycerin, saline, furosemide, propranolol, amiodarone, antibiotics, transfusion, non-invasive ventilation, defibrillation and transfer to the intensive care unit. THE PATIENT WILL NOT WAIT Live electrocardiogram trace, arterial pressure curve and venous pressure. If ventricular fibrillation sets in, you have seconds to defibrillate before you lose the patient. GAME MODES · Pick a scenario, or take a random case · Exam mode: ten consecutive rounds with a final score · Three difficulty levels, with ever tighter margins · Score per round and cumulative LANGUAGES Spanish, English, German, Chinese and Japanese, with voice. WHERE IT PLAYS BEST For iPhone, iPad and Mac. Cockpit mode shines on Mac and iPad: the added instruments and panels make the controls smaller, so a phone screen gets less out of it. Classic mode plays perfectly on all three. LEGAL NOTICE SimShockPad is a game that represents pathophysiological situations in a simplified way. It is not an educational tool or a clinical guide. It offers no medical advice and makes no recommendations of any kind. Always consult healthcare professionals.

New cockpit mode. A second interface styled like a flight deck: six analogue needle instruments, a multi-function display with switchable pages, a warning light panel, and infusion levers with continuous dosing instead of fixed doses. The classic interface is still there. After updating, the game starts as it always did. Cockpit mode is optional and is switched on from the pill at the bottom left, or from the selector in the cockpit itself. Your choice is remembered. Tests you have to order. Blood gas, lactate, blood count, echocardiogram and Swan-Ganz catheter. Each takes its time to come back, and the catheter unlocks the wedge pressure, cardiac output and resistance readings, which stay dark without it. Lactate with inertia. It rises fast when things go wrong and falls slowly when they are put right, so normalising the numbers is not enough. Ventricular fibrillation is now visible on the electrocardiogram trace, with an on-screen warning. Outcome panel at the end of the game, with the round score and the cumulative total. Internal adjustments to how the patient behaves and to the antibiotic options, so they respond more coherently. Five languages: Spanish, English, German, Chinese and Japanese.
