Discover the Ocean in Your Pocket
Reef ID is the all in one companion for reef keepers and divers. Point your camera at any fish, coral, or invertebrate and get an instant identification powered by AI, complete with care level, diet, adult size, reef safety, and a clear warning when a species is dangerous to humans.
IDENTIFY ANYTHING Snap a photo or pick one from your gallery. Reef ID returns the best match plus other likely candidates, so you can compare details and confirm the species yourself. Every result includes temperament, tank size requirements, temperature and pH ranges, and a plain language description.
DIVE MODE Built for the water. Dive Mode keeps your screen awake, locks out accidental touches, and lets you capture with the volume buttons, completely hands free. Every capture is saved with its photo, identified in the background, and collected in your dive log to review, retry, save, or share after the dive. Dangerous species are flagged the moment they are identified.
TRACK YOUR TANKS Create a profile for each of your tanks with a photo, type, and volume. Log water tests and water changes in seconds and watch your water quality score respond. Reef ID reminds you when a water change is overdue so your reef stays stable.
BUILD YOUR INVENTORY Add identified species straight to your tank. Search and filter your fish, corals, and invertebrates, review care notes, and export your full livestock list as text when you sell, trade, or rescape.
LEARN THE HOBBY Short practical courses cover reef basics, water parameters, tank cycling, coral care, and fish compatibility, written for beginners with real numbers you can act on. When you have a question the courses do not answer, ask the built in reef expert chat and get a clear, practical reply.
Reef ID Pro unlocks unlimited scans, Dive Mode, the reef expert chat, all courses, add to tank, and inventory export. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Lifetime access is available as a one time purchase.
Dive in and know your reef.

Used this one time and failed to identify. Only option after that is to pay for the app. Might be great but I guess I will never know.
Developer Response
Hey everyone, im updating all of you with the same response - thanks to your reviews, i decided to check myself - it turns out that Google discontinued the model without warning. So all the requests to the server were FAILING. I am sorry for the inconvenience. You should be able to update to the new version within 24h and have a fully functioning ID system and a newer/better model. I am sorry for the inconvenience this caused, as i am quite annoyed myself as i've obviously lost money and trust from you guys because of this issue. Thank you for understanding and I hope you consider retrying your identifications. Regards,Colby - App Developer
Phenomenal app!

I love this app. It is fast and convenient. Instead of posting in forums and waiting on people to tell you want type of coral you have just take a picture and upload it to the app and it’ll tell you in seconds what it is. It’s truly amazing. And you can have a log of all your identifications which is a game changer in this industry to have all the info you need stored for anytime you need to go back and look at care requirements and everything like that. It’s awesome definitely worth the money!
Works great

Bought the app and out of 5 photos, it failed to identify all 5. Id have given it 0 stars, but there’s no way to do that… save your $24
