Great IF M4+ and enough RAM

I am running a top of the line M4 Max w 64GB of ram. So far the game is GREAT when its running but it will ALWAYS crash at least 1 time while I’m playing.. ALWAYS. It seems to be threading issues with Metal.. PLEASE fix this. That said I am running at Medium settings and Metal Optimized and only getting about 60fps. Seems to be a good enough trade off with responsiveness and graphics BUT for a 5k Computer I would expect it to run a bit faster and on Ultra settings, but NO dice… Either way this is a great gram on a Mac and I never game on this computer, but was fun to play while away for work.

[UPDATE Again] Finally fixed the Camp depot comrade bug!! Now the game seems totally normal. Few crashes sometimes I pause overnight and it plays fine in the morning. Good Job team![UPDATE] Its still crashing at unpredictable times, (usually not graphics heavy causes, crashes at the vendors or right after, never crashes during boss encounters or big battles, but save IMMIDEATLY AFTER! Glad to see they are working on patches, This game is definitely worth the money. It’s an amazing game with everything. It’s so well thought out and everything is developed. The amount of environmental depth is astonishing. That said it crashes a lot usually once or twice an hour and it takes 5 minutes to load and then you have to get back to where you were, so that’s about 10 minutes of new content per hour of playing. It really needs a patch or something. Im playing one a Mac Studio Pro Apple A2 MaX at medium graphics.
Deplorable writing, clunky controls, and overall bad game

While the vastness and beauty of the open world is breathtaking, this is about the only advantage of this game. The story writing is just horrendous — the game has the lore equivalent to a third grader summer writing assignment, where the cutscenes tell you no story at all, and you have to hunt for scraps of lore in the game’s codex. Then, the battle feels just bad, due to very clunky controls, inability to cancel animations, and overall too much visual effects on the screen where you can’t focus on boss fights (which you are supposed just to heal yourself through). Further, most of the puzzles are just boring/stupid. To top it all off, two other “playable” characters are in fact unplayable, since you have a common pool of skill points for all three (and, being reasonable, of course you put them all in the only character who can access all content in the game), but then the devious devs just make to to have forced sequences with each of this secondary characters which you have not leveled up. To sum up, this is a good-looking hollow MMORPG simulator mistakenly called a single-player RPG. NOT RECOMMENDED
Amazing on MacOS.. but…

Crimson Desert looks amazing on Mac. I have a M4 Max MacBook Pro and it looks and runs great on Ultra Settings, which it defaults to! But… *deep breath* there are crashes… I’m still giving the game 5 stars because it’s a new game that has been out for a week and I know they’re working on it. I hope… at least. Please fix the crashes. Sometimes it happens when loading into the game, sometimes it’s cutting down a tree, sometimes just moving objects. I really can’t pinpoint why it’s crashing.Update for 1.0.10 - crashes has gotten a little better, but it still happens. The auto save its pretty good, and I save after accomplishing something big. I really have not lost any thing. It’s just frustrating I have to force close the game and reopen it all the time.
