Some improvements to help you track free stories during literacy month

Some general enhancements to story quality.

We're excited to announce a new challenge for the month of September. September is Literacy Month. We challenge you to make a nightly reading habit with your child, and to help you do that, you can create a new Bairn story every single night for the month of September.

We're really excited to announce that you can now use Bairn with your child's Yoto player! Authenticate with your Yoto account, and add any Bairn story to your Yoto library. Control your child's Yoto device directly from Bairn!

Narrators are now more emotive and expressive in stories, podcasts, and more.

We added a new zippy way to get started with your story and podcast creation, and we also made it easier to redeem codes from our affiliate partners.

We’re releasing a new feature to all of our users! Round robin storytelling. You can each tell a part of a creative story, and have AI push it forward each round. We also included several stability fixes for speech-to-text.

Bug fixes and performance improvements— including more reliable story and bedtime reminders.

We've made some improvements to our onboarding flow to ensure that every new user has a way to experience the unique aspects of Bairn within seconds.

We’re launching a few new features in this release, and we’re so excited to hear your feedback. 1. Introducing Poppers: Poppers are conversation starters that guide you and your children through meaningful conversations each night. 2. Sound Effects: we’ve added sound effects to every new story. Now each story is richer and more engaging with sounds that make each story feel real. We’ve also addressed a few bugs and issues around story quality and story creation.

What's new in 1.0.2 A cleaner, more readable story experience: - One of the suggestions we heard from you was to create a version YOU could read with your kiddos. Now you can! Before you press play or When you pause, the whole page now stays fully visible — perfect for reading along with your little one, or skimming ahead while they doze off. (GET YOUR BUTT TO SLEEP, AMIRITE?!) - Word-by-word highlighting now scrolls smoothly through each sentence as the narrator reads, so kids (and grownups) can follow along without losing their place. - Chapter titles no longer appear twice at the top of the body text. That was weird. WHOS BUILDING THIS THING ANYWAYS. Small polish: - Fixed the Home upgrade card message so it accurately reflects what Opus includes. - Our upgrade experience and FAQs now pull prices straight from the App Store, so you always see your current plan's pricing. - We heard some feedback about the text not adapting to the width of your screens. What's new in 1.0.1 You can now delete your account and all associated data right from Settings — no need to contact support. We only ask for microphone and notification access at the moment you start creating a story or podcast, so it's clear why we need them. Before you sign in, you'll now see a direct link to our Terms and Privacy Policy, which have been updated with clearer details about the AI services that power Bairn and exactly what data is shared. Bug fixes: • Free users can once again start Epic Quest stories (they're supposed to be free — sorry! We were having a little bit of a mic check after release.) • Fixed the back button on the "Choose your plan" screen so it actually takes you back (womp womp) • Fixed a visual glitch that made the Subscribe button text look broken • Fixed round-robin stories getting stuck after the opening greeting so turns advance smoothly between participants Thanks for reading stories with Bairn!
