MagicaLCore EDU: Machine Learning Training for Classrooms and Institutions
MagicaLCore EDU gives educators and institutions everything they need to teach and explore machine learning directly on iPad.
Designed for schools and universities, the app lets students build, train and test their own models on iPads with Apple silicon (M1 or later). No servers, no subscriptions, no accounts, no internet connection and no code.
Version 2.0 grows from images to six kinds of models. Students import their own photos, recordings, texts or tables, watch the model learn step by step and test it instantly with the iPad camera or microphone.
Six kinds of models:
- Images: tell objects apart, like scissors, pencils and erasers.
- Sounds: recognize sounds from their own recordings.
- Hand poses: rock, paper, scissors with their own hand.
- Hand actions: learn movements, like waving, from videos.
- Text: sort sentences by topic or subject, in several languages.
- Tabular data: import a CSV and get classifications or numeric predictions.

- On-device training: everything runs on the iPad, offline, for privacy and reliability in class.
- Live metrics: a chart of accuracy and loss at every iteration, easy to read and discuss.
- Real-time testing: with photos, files and videos, or live with the camera and microphone.

- Export: name the model and export it as a ready-to-use .mlmodel for Swift Playgrounds and Xcode, with sample code included.

What’s new in MagicaLCore EDU 2.0.1:
- Help at every step: tap Training, Validation, Loss or Memory to see what they mean, with an example chart. There is also help about the training data and the augmentations, and you can read it while a model is training.
- More reliable validation: each training always checks itself with the same samples, also when you resume it, and the exported model is the one from its best moment.
- Clearer pause: while it stops, the screen tells you and keeps everything locked.
- Testing: the live camera recognizes hands better in any orientation, hand action videos open fine even when they are in iCloud, and the import button opens Files the first time.
- Tabular data: testing from the History compares the prediction with the real value, and training again always works.
- Updated tutorials and more improvements for VoiceOver and larger text.
- Bug fixes and stability improvements.
