They advertised it as a free vpn but when you download it the first thing it asks for is subscription and there’s no free option. Such a disappointment
Used to be good, now it’s worthless

I was a loyal user of EventVPN for several months and it worked great. Everything I needed and never had a problem. Then all of a sudden, it stopped working. Now whenever I launch the app, I’m shown no options to connect. Just the slowly rotating globe that’s shown as the app is loading. I emailed EventVPN. They were very slow responding to me, their responses carried an extremely condescending tone, continuously asking me to redo things I had already confirmed I’d done. I removed or reset every single network connection on my computer, I reset my router, I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, none of it worked at all. The “support” team (though calling them “support” is an insult to that word) just said they won’t do anything more and “We know this isn't the outcome you were hoping for, and we appreciate your patience and understanding.”I have neither patience nor understanding for this waste of memory.

Free tier had to deleted from VPN configuration in settings. Downloaded and it connected on second try. I disconnected as I was going to utilize this service as a backup to my primary paid VPN service. Even though disconnected, in app and settings, my device was no longer connecting to any internet services. This was resolved by deleted EventVPN profile in VPN settings. I have iOS 26.0 on a 14plus. I am sure it may work for others who have time or experience to optimize settings and such. I am not a device or VPN expert, however, if it’s going to fight me, I’ll move on.

I enjoyed it for 6 months but now free servers look like they are lessening. Server of Canada is completely missing from the free list .Is someone even listening ? Also, the server of India has been removed from the free list .What is really going on ?
We introduced a one-time verification step to help protect the network from abuse and improve reliability for all users.
