The game is an absolute blast! I’m enjoying it way more than I thought. This is the first game like this I’ve played, and it’s incredibly fun. The only real issue I have is it’s a bit confusing when it comes to some of the mechanics, and the tutorials aren’t very helpful. For example, I have a few stages that have “defeat enemies with X amount of ‘SP Moves’”, but I always have 0 enemies defeated with them. I’ve tried picking only my characters “special”/“signature” moves when leveling up in a round and nothing. I randomly started getting them during a round, but I have absolutely no clue how or why.Another is I have a stage that says “finish with ‘character name’ alive”, but they’re not in my character list, don’t seem to have unlocked in previous stages/chapters like every other character so far, and again, no way to see what is needed to unlock them. There doesn’t seem to be much of an online community for this game either (which is mildly shocking because again, this game is fun as heck!) so I can’t find any answers there. Maybe I’m just not familiar with this genre of game, but it would be really helpful to be able to know what I’m supposed to do, and how to do it, so I don’t have 2/3 stars on a stage. Overall, a great game, it’s funny, it’s addicting, and it’s a blast, even though I’m not always sure what exactly I’m doing.

Look Apple Arcade is great, but amazing games are trapped on phones and will disappear eventually, either through updates or delisting. In some cases, games will be removed completely preventing you from even downloading them again.River City Survivors is the most time I’ve played in a Survivors-like outside of Vampire Survivors. It will be a shame if this is never released outside of app stores. There’s not as much enemy variance but there doesn’t need to be. River City has a strong personality already and makes it a great IP for adapting to other genres.

The most fun I’ve had this year with an Apple Arcade game. Characters I play and love since renegade on the NES ( yes I’m that old) but fluid controller support, Tons of enemies on the screen with no lag, and a simple but fantastic story (zombies!) it’s blast to play especially with no IAP! Great job devs I hope you add its content as time passes by and port it to the switch 2!

The game itself it fun but I wish there was a way to look at what items upgrade skills. Preferably in-game cause the abilities shows what is needed to upgrade but the (I’m gonna use item) the items don’t have it.There’s also nothing to use like a guide for what you unlocked and what item and skill combinations are available. Doing everything by chance is fine but I’m not trying to remember everything on the fly. That’s the major deterrent for me to just keep playing. Maybe not a big deal breaker for others but it does take the fun out of it when I don’t have clarity.
