Meet Sortaroo — the hoppiest way to tidy your photos & videos on Mac.
Pick a folder, hit Start, and watch your library bounce into neat date folders.
What Sortaroo does
• Hops files into Year / Month / Day folders
• Custom date range with compact calendar pickers
• Exact duplicate detection (moves copies to a Duplicates area)
• Works with photos, videos, or both
• Friendly live progress and an easy Undo last run
Smart Day grouping
Had brunch in the morning and a party at night? We’ve got you.
Turn on Grouping in Day mode and Sortaroo keeps those moments together—without mixing everything from that day into one big folder.
Random pictures
Some days may have a few random pictures that don’t fit the day’s story. Turn on Detect Randoms to set them aside so your main moments stay together.

Private by design
Everything happens on your Mac. Sortaroo only touches folders you choose—
no accounts, no analytics, no ads, no cloud.
Perfect for
That giant “To Sort” or “Everything” folder that keeps growing. Point Sortaroo at it once, pick a destination, and it turns the mess into tidy Year/Month/Day folders. When new files land there tomorrow, just run Sortaroo again—new items get organized without changing what’s already done.
Requirements
• macOS 12 or later

Note
Don’t like the results of your last run? Undo uses a local manifest to put untouched files right back where they were.
