Designed for kids. Trusted by parents. A minimal first camera for little photographers aged 2-8.
Lemon Squeezy is a safe, simple way for kids to explore photography without the usual screen time headaches. It's designed for children to use independently and has a built-in photo library so they don't wreck yours.
KEY FEATURES
Huge shutter button (~7x bigger than the iOS Camera)
Kid-friendly photo gallery they can browse solo
Custom limits and delays to stop to photo spam
Thoughtful settings to tailor the app to your child
Space saving mode, batch export settings, and more
HOW IT WORKS
Step 1. Open Lemon Squeezy and give it to your child. (Pro tip: use Guided Access to ensure they don't switch apps).
Step 2. Enjoy ten minutes of actual peace while they snap everything in sight, safe in the knowledge they can't access your camera roll and the results won't end up in iCloud.
Step 3. The camera automatically shuts off when they hit your chosen photo limit. They can review everything and mark faves from the easy-to-explore gallery.
Step 4. If there's anything good enough to keep, parents can save individual photos or batch export the faves to the main Photos app.
PARENT-MADE
Hi, I'm Tom. I made this app for my children after watching them struggle with the default camera app. Everything here tackles a real problem, inspired by testing with my kids and their friends.
MY PHILOSOPHY
Lemon Squeezy doesn't employ gimmicks, gamification, or social features. There is no progression, no pressure, no silly filters or sticker packs. I don't believe kids need to be bribed into enjoying photography! My hope is that Lemon Squeezy can offer parents a more positive alternative to the many harmful types of screen time aimed at kids.
PRIVACY IS EVERYTHING
I care a lot about privacy. There's no sign-up required and the app collects no user data. Nothing is stored in the cloud. All photos are kept safely on device unless you choose to manually share them.
WHAT PEOPLE SAY
“Neat idea!” - John Gruber, Daring Fireball
“This friendly, usable, ad-free camera is ideal for getting little ones into photography.” - Craig Grannell, Tapsmart
"My two year old gets complete creative freedom and my four year old can slow down and focus." - Ella, mum of 2
SUBSCRIPTION DETAILS
Kids can take 20 photos per day completely free, with no ads or watermarks in sight. For unlimited sessions, upgrade to Lemon Squeezy Pro. This also unlocks custom themes and home screen widgets. I've tried to keep it affordable and there's a one-off payment option if you don't like subscriptions.

I wish I had this app when my first kid was younger - As someone that loves the little details and a style someone commits to, I love this. It does exactly what it says it’s intending to do without any hurdles. I knew exactly what I was doing and how to do it instantly. The little details and style such as the seeds telling how many photos you can take at the top 👌 great job and excited to see how this lemon grows.

Unfortunate

I love this as an alternate simple and fun looking camera app with an option to reduce resolution, and I’d definitely purchase pro, but the fact that there’s no setting (even in Pro) to automatically save captures to camera roll is a major flaw. I truly can’t believe this isn’t at least a Pro option. I’m not digging through settings constantly to save all captures. Ridiculous! Also, there’s no multi-select in the gallery section and each action requires birth date to unlock toolbar to do anything.

Hi! I'm glad you like the concept and thanks for your constructive feedback. All good ideas and I've implemented two of them already!Personally I like how the app keeps the kids' photos separate from mine but I appreciate everyone uses the app differently, so the latest update adds 'automatically save captures' as a toggle in settings. This isn't a Pro feature, it's for everyone. You can also now turn off the parental gate in most areas if you find the constant age checks annoying. (The Pro paywall remains protected). On your last point: multi-select is something I avoided to keep things as simple as possible for kids – but I will explore adding it to the parents-only toolbar in the next update. Good suggestion. Thanks again for your feedback, it really helps to improve the app. If you feel compelled to update your review that would mean a lot to me :)
My kid loves it

It’s a safe app that my kid loves to interact with to take absolutely funny photos of their toys. Recommended!

Kids photos are hilarious - but I still prefer them away from my main camera roll! Glad you're enjoying it :) Tom
Lemon Squeezy 1.2 is here! This update adds some new features suggested by an App Store reviewer.
- You can now set photos to auto-save to your camera roll on capture to avoid manual export.
- You can disable the parental gate so you're not constantly typing in a passcode (the paywall always remains locked).
- Both of these are toggled off by default, but I'm always striving to add more flexibility so parents can set things up how they like.
