Dark mode is easier on the eyes: buttons keep their look instead of flipping to white, and cards no longer show heavy outlines. The card now tells you when it's playing with the device voice. Fixed speed control disappearing for some users who had credits.

Purchases are now verified with the App Store before credits are added, so a payment can't go missing or be counted twice. Clearer messages if something goes wrong. Playback speed control is now part of premium voices.

You no longer need a Google account. Install the app and you get 100 credits and a balance you can spend on premium voice and AI cards — and top up if you want to. Signing in with Google is still worth it: it syncs your decks across devices, lets you edit them in Google Sheets, and keeps your credits safe if you lose your phone. Connect it later and your credits come with you.

Listen mode now shows you the silence. A thin line on the card counts down each pause, so you can tell how long you have to recall the answer instead of wondering whether playback stopped. It matters most with auto memorize, where the pause before the answer grows as a card gets familiar.

Reaching the free deck limit now tells you so. Before, a deck could save but never show up on your home screen with no explanation. Also on iOS: your unsaved cards are kept as a draft when you leave the deck editor, there's a new Continue Later option, and a draft you discarded no longer comes back.

Bug fixes and small improvements under the hood.

New: Auto memorize — a second play button in Listen mode. Press it and the deck learns with you. A brand-new card plays question and answer back to back, like a song chorus. As you hear a card again and again, a silence grows before the answer — room for your memory to get there first. Once you know a card well, the answer's voice steps back and just quietly confirms you were right. Stay away a few days and it steps forward again, exactly as much as forgetting requires. No grading, no buttons to press mid-listen. Just keep listening, and the deck reshapes itself around what you already know. Auto memorize uses credits, like background listening — if you're out, the button tells you instead of playing silence. Listen now works before you sign in. Tap Listen on a demo deck and you will actually hear the cards read aloud, on your device's own voice — until now they advanced without a sound, which looked like a broken app. You can also keep decks on this device only. Turn on "Keep decks on this device" in your profile and new decks stay put until you back them up yourself. Device-only decks are no longer second-class: edit, add and delete cards, rename a deck, delete it, and they stay on your home screen when you're offline. If you decline Drive permission, the app now asks what you want instead of quietly deciding for you. Your cards also start with a better voice. If you never picked one yourself, we were letting Google choose — and it chose its most basic. Every language now starts with the most natural voice available, and question and answer sides sound different. Sixteen more languages can be chosen by hand, including Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Filipino, Slovak and Serbian. And if the connection to Drive stumbles, your decks keep their own titles instead of turning into a string of random letters.

"Sheets" are now "Decks." We've renamed the study unit across the whole app — same cards, a clearer name that matches the website. Also: Listen mode now shows your time. Start Play All and the button counts how long you've been listening. From your second time through a deck it also shows how much of the round is left, with a progress bar and the round number — it waits until the audio has actually been measured rather than guessing. And a blank row in your deck no longer stops playback partway.

Cards now always play their own voice. Two separate glitches could make a card speak a different card's sentence — both are fixed. You can also clear saved audio when something sounds wrong: just this card, from the card menu, or all of it from Settings, where you can see how much space it uses. Plus small fixes throughout.

Decks now remember where you left off. Tap a deck and it reopens at the last card you studied — and the card on your home screen shows that spot ("12/20") before you even open it, so you're never dropped back at card one. It keeps your place across shuffle and Listen mode too. Plus small fixes throughout.

Hints just got smarter. Tap Hint in Speak mode and it now reveals the words that actually matter first — no more spending a hint on "the" or "of". The learning screen also stays rock-steady when you flip a card. Plus: choose whether Today's 5 shows on your home screen, and enjoy a smoother start when creating cards with AI.

Stuck on a card in Speak mode? Tap the new Hint to reveal part of the answer, one piece at a time — a nudge without giving it away. Plus a fresh launch screen, AI-generated cards that show up right after you create them, and a cleaner, more consistent look throughout.

Listen mode now tells you the moment your credits run out — an immediate heads-up instead of the audio just going quiet. Creating AI cards before signing in is smoother too: after you sign in we bring you right back to card creation, and we fixed a rare freeze that could happen when the sign-in prompt appeared. Plus reliability fixes under the hood.

New: give questions and answers their own voices — even in the same language. Pick them in the learning screen's question/answer settings. AI card creation now takes much bigger material: PDFs up to 40 MB and up to 10 photos at once. Plus a small what's-new banner on home you can dismiss once and never see again.

Your very first demo deck now matches your device language, so the sample cards make sense from the start. And when you come back to explore again, the home screen invites you to turn your own notes, photos, or PDFs into cards in about 30 seconds.

The Continue card on your home screen now shows the exact question you left off on, so you know right where you're picking up. And if AI card creation needs Google Drive access, a clearer prompt now lets you allow it with one tap.

Signed out after an update? The app now notices right away and helps you sign back in with one tap — your sheets and credits are always kept safe, exactly as you left them.
