Smart Remote+ now has smoother Apple TV swipes and defaults to the touchpad while keeping your saved preference. TV and Menu buttons match your Apple TV remote. Power, widgets, shortcuts and reconnection are more reliable, with clear awake and asleep status. Volume controls follow your selected audio device, and Apple TV apps show their app icons.

Apple TV comes to Smart Remote+ Pair your Apple TV and control it with the D-pad or swipe gestures. Browse your installed apps, launch favourites, and control playback from your remote. Choose where volume goes While controlling Apple TV, choose a saved TV for the volume buttons, so navigation and sound are together in one remote. Smart Remote+ now controls Hisense and Toshiba VIDAA TVs, joining LG webOS, Samsung, Sony Bravia, and Google TV / Android TV. Hisense and Toshiba VIDAA TVs The Hisense sets sold outside the US run VIDAA, and the app had no way in to them until now. Enter the four-digit code your TV puts on screen and you get power, volume including the slider and mute, the full D-pad, transport, colour and number keys, and direct input switching. Your inputs and your apps come from the TV itself, so the input row shows the names you gave them and the launcher shows what is actually installed — not a generic list. Launching works straight from the app, and from your widgets and Shortcuts. Screen Sleep Turn the TV's screen off with the sound still playing, for falling asleep to a programme or listening to a music channel without the panel lit. Off Now and Wake buttons live in the app, on the Mac menu bar, on Apple Watch, in the Controls widget and in Control Centre. Turn TV Screen Off and Turn TV Screen On are also Shortcuts actions, so you can schedule them: "at 23:00, turn the TV screen off" runs whether or not the app is open. LG and Sony TVs. Switch the section on in Settings, Customise Layout. Also fixed Turning the screen off now works on LG TVs, where on most firmware it previously did nothing at all. On Sony TVs, a scheduled or widget screen-off can no longer switch the picture back on when it is already off. And a TV that answers in standby is no longer reported as disconnected after you turn it off, so the next press has something to send on.

Smart Remote+ now controls Samsung TVs, joining LG webOS, Sony Bravia, and Android TV / Google TV. A new Standby status shows when a TV is reachable but its screen is off, Siri Shortcuts and widgets are now fully brand-aware (Turn On works without a stored MAC address), and power controls are smarter about waking and switching off every brand. Bug fixes and improvements

Panel Care - kill the auto-dimmer The most-requested LG OLED feature anywhere: switch off TPC and GSR, the panel's automatic dimming of static scenes, logos and game HUDs, for full brightness whenever you want it (2020 and newer OLED models). The TV normally brings dimming back after a power cycle - the app remembers your choice per TV and re-applies it automatically every time it connects. One tap restores factory dimming. Scenes - your TV, set up in one tap Create named presets like "Movie Night" or "Gaming" that apply a whole batch of settings at once: HDMI input, picture mode, OLED light, brightness, contrast, colour, energy saving, TruMotion and sound output. Scenes work on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and can be run from Shortcuts, Siri and widgets. Control your TV's picture and sound directly Three more new remote sections skip the TV's buried menus entirely: • Sound Output - switch between TV speakers, HDMI ARC, optical, Bluetooth and headphones • Picture Mode - one-tap switching between Vivid, Cinema, Game, Filmmaker and more • Picture & Energy - real sliders for OLED Light, Brightness, Contrast and Colour showing your TV's actual values, plus Energy Saving and TruMotion controls All new sections are off by default - open Settings → Customise Layout and look for the NEW badges to switch them on.
