When you drag a bell to place an alert, you now see two times at once. The top one is how much is left until the end, the bottom one is how long you have been going. Put a bell one minute before the end of a five minute talk and you get 1:00 and 4:00, side by side. At the same moment the dial splits into two colors at the bell, so you can tell at a glance which number belongs to which stretch. The numbers are bigger and easier to read, too.
When you have several alerts, only the bell you are moving stays sharp and the others step back for a moment. Three seconds after you let go, everything fades gently back to normal.
Dragging on the dial no longer jumps. Grabbing a bell used to snap it to your fingertip, dragging past the end could throw it to the opposite side, and the handle trailed a beat behind your finger. All of that is gone — the dial now keeps the spot you grabbed and follows your finger exactly.
There is a new reset button under the dial, so you can get back to the starting setup in one tap after trying things out. When you have not changed anything there is nothing to save and nothing to undo, so neither button appears.
Add a new alert and the alert list now scrolls along to the one you just made, instead of leaving it hidden off screen.
The App Clip has been laid out to fit on a single screen without scrolling, which left room for a bigger dial.
