I personally think it’s better than the desktop site and the best way to access digital content. Having access to all the old issues on my phone is awesome

Quality and useabilty

I am updating my review of 1 star. The app still does not function like someone would expect; however, if users stay on the Gameinformer website and logged in, we do have access to a high resolution PDF. At least it functions like a magazine. Videos are not linked or able to view within the reader considering it is not a modern app with those capabilities. The videos live separately on the site which maybe should be referenced in the high res PDF so we can go there without having to go to two different sources. Or referenced in the Contents page with link to video of what is highlighted in the magazine. Also a videos page or section with all videos referenced in the magazine. This would help us enjoy our magazine and keep up with the games we enjoy without creating a new app and pivoting to other sources. Thanks for listening. I love GameInformer and have for over 20 years.
Lost Access to Previous Issues in Sub
Apple (Mac) of My Eye
You need a subscription to read the issues you previously had access to. Other magazine apps give you access to issues released during the period of your sub even if you don’t renew, why can’t Game Informer do the same? The back issues from before the relaunch are also blank.UPDATE: Developer replied to review with a request to contact support. Why? It states on the website that you lose access to the archive for the relaunch issues if you don’t renew. I wasn’t aware of this when I bought a subscription. If I did, I wouldn’t have subscribed. I’m writing this just to let people who plan on getting a digital subscription know that they’re just renting the magazine.

For articles that feature a list of some sort, the article stops after the introduction and the actual list and written blurbs for each item are not there. I have to open the article on my internet browser to read the whole thing. Not sure if this is intentional? It’s pretty inconvenient. Otherwise, I do love everything else about the app!
