TIME TRAVEL • Fast-forward the heavens. Step through hours, days, or months and watch the stars wheel overhead, the Moon change phase, and the planets wander - all from your remote. ISS PASS ALERTS • Real orbital tracking, computed from live satellite data. Night Sky tells you when and where to look ("in 5 minutes — look southwest") so you never miss a pass again. A TRUER SKY • The Sun and the Moon, with its real phase, now shine in the Planetarium. Planet positions are calculated with observatory-grade accuracy, the sky glows blue at dawn and fades to black at dusk, and the ISS appears only when it is truly above your horizon. NASA PICTURE OF THE DAY • A breathtaking new image from NASA every day, in fullscreen with the story behind it. ROCKET LAUNCHES • Live countdowns to upcoming missions around the world. Watch streams on the big screen, or scan a code to follow along on your phone. AURORA ALERTS • When a real geomagnetic storm makes the northern lights visible at your location, Night Sky lets you know - and can even paint your HomeKit lights in aurora colors. Also in this release: smoother scene transitions, a more dependable sleep timer, sunrise, sunset and moonrise times, and dozens of refinements under the stars. Clear skies!

Interactive Planetarium • Night Sky 4K now includes a real-time sky map for your exact location. Launch it with a single swipe and explore the night sky as it actually looks above you right now - accurate star positions calculated from your coordinates, constellation figures for all major groupings from Orion to Ursa Major, and live planet positions for Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. Pan across the sky with the Apple TV remote, zoom in on specific regions, and watch the ISS marker update in real time. Every star is color-coded by its spectral type - blue-white for hot giants, gold and amber for cooler supergiants like Betelgeuse and Aldebaran. Over 4,000 stars render with physically accurate brightness and atmospheric dimming near the horizon. Stability and Accuracy • Venus now appears in the visible planets list using its true 584-day synodic cycle rather than a static approximation, so the data reflects what is actually in your evening or morning sky. • HomeKit scene scheduling has been rewritten for tvOS compatibility. • Audio crossfade no longer causes volume drops when switching tracks or adjusting levels mid-fade. • Several crashes related to background playback and sleep timer activation have been resolved. Refinements • The astronomy overlay loads faster on launch and refreshes without flickering. • Clock overlays no longer drift outside safe zones on large displays. • The settings panel now correctly reflects the current app version. • Remote control instructions in the settings menu have been updated to include all available gestures including the new Planetarium shortcut.
