Screen stays on during sessions – Time announcement mode, timer, and routines prevent auto-lock while active so voice announcements keep playing (e.g., in the shower). Watch routines run when screen is off – Physical therapy background mode keeps the timer and haptics going when the Watch screen dims during stretches. Haptic strength in Settings – Choose Subtle, Medium, or Strong for haptic feedback. On iPhone, this affects haptics when you use Haptics or Both feedback modes; on Apple Watch, it always affects routine and timer haptics. The setting syncs between iPhone and Watch, so you configure it once in Settings.
