HackerWire now collects anonymous usage statistics so we can see how many people use the app and which features matter. No account, device, or reading data is sent, and you can switch it off any time in Settings > About > Share Anonymous Usage Stats. The feed now minds its manners. When fresh stories arrive, a New Stories button floats in at the top instead of the list reshuffling under your thumb. Tap it when you're ready. HackerWire keeps a quiet eye out for new posts while you read. Ask HN and Show HN posts finally read like they should: real paragraphs, tappable links, and tidy monospaced code blocks in place of a wall of text. Also in this release: your Default Sort setting now actually loads the category you picked on launch, switching categories during a load sticks instead of being ignored, and a handful of smaller refresh fixes.

Pull from the right edge to glide back to the story you were reading, right where you left off. • Snappier comment threads, with a subtle fade-in as they load. • Stories and site icons now fade in gently instead of popping. • Put the jump-to-comment button wherever you like. Pick a preset or drag it anywhere in Settings. • A fresh launch animation, plus performance improvements and bug fixes.
