UNDERSTANDING THE INDEX:
- 0-40: Poor - Normal conditions, local contacts only
- 40-55: Fair - Slightly enhanced propagation
- 55-70: Good - DX possible, 200-500 km range
- 70-85: Very Good - Strong DX, 500-1000 km range
- 85-100: Excellent - Extreme conditions, 1000+ km possible!
The app calculates tropospheric conditions using atmospheric pressure, temperature, humidity, dew point, and refractivity to predict VHF/UHF radio wave propagation. When high-pressure systems create temperature inversions, radio signals can travel much farther than normal - and TropoDX helps you catch those moments!

What's New in 1.2
Improved accuracy – Tropospheric index now calculated using ITU-R P.453-14, the international standard for radio refractivity. Data sourced from Open-Meteo (GFS model) including atmospheric pressure levels up to 1500m altitude.
Band support – Select your band (6m / 2m / 70cm) for band-specific index, expected DX range, and operating advice.
History chart – New History tab with a chart of index development over time. Switch between 24h / 7 days / 30 days view.
Background notifications – App now checks conditions in the background and alerts you when your threshold is reached, even when closed.
Real trend indicator – Rising / Stable / Falling based on actual measurement history, not a fixed value.
No API key required – Switched from OpenWeatherMap to Open-Meteo (free, no registration).
