1.1.14 Aug 2
Unfinished writing can now be recovered after an unexpected interruption. Using folders in Live Mirror is simpler, and border styles are more consistent across the app. This update also includes fixes for known issues and interaction improvements.
1.1.13 Jul 30
Improved diary image previews and private diary setup on iPhone and iPad. The close control stays clear of the status area, and you can swipe down to dismiss an image. Empty new diaries can be marked private before you start writing and keep that setting when first saved. This update also includes bug fixes and visual and interaction refinements.
1.1.12 Jul 24
Pasted text from other apps now immediately matches your diary's font and paragraph spacing on iPhone and iPad, while keeping supported bold, italic, and strikethrough styling. App Store product page information is also provided consistently in English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.
1.1.11 Jul 16
Improved Live Mirror reliability. Changing the save location now moves the entire Dawnary folder with all its contents, while failed or interrupted moves preserve existing files and keep the current location available. Folder rebuilding, automatic updates, and private diary cleanup also recover more reliably.
1.1.10 Jul 14
Added Live Mirror on iPhone and iPad, letting you continuously save diaries as standard Markdown and images to a folder you choose in Files. Mirror folders can be reused across devices, with clearer safeguards for folders and private diaries. Confirmation dialogs are also more consistent across the app.
1.1.9 Jul 13
Improved search and settings on iPhone. Search now uses a smoother native experience with more reliable keyboard, back gestures, and result updates. Settings have clearer spacing and quicker choices, Review calendars adapt better to available width, and Companion Letters now explains its future transition and Markdown mirror alternative.
1.1.8 Jul 11
Improved the iPhone writing and reading experience. The native editor is more stable when opening the photo source menu, keeps undo history through rich text and image actions, makes empty paragraphs follow your diary format, and keeps text, selections, image cursors, reading pages, On This Day, and share images aligned with your chosen writing style.
1.1.7 Jul 7
Improved the native editor's stability and date context handling. Changing a diary to a past date now clears outdated location and weather, switching it back to today refreshes today's context in the editor, photo insertion uses less memory with large images, and the insertion point now aligns more naturally with text and image paragraphs.
1.1.6 Jul 6
Improved privacy and export safeguards. Private diaries and companion content can now be unlocked with system identity verification including passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID, iCloud conflicts identify the exact diary with local times, Markdown export and copy handle images and private entries more safely, and AI private memory, review lists, and diagnostics better avoid exposing sensitive data.
1.1.5 Jun 27
Improved the native editor's save and paste reliability. Saving, closing, and switching diaries stay responsive while location or weather is still loading, new diaries open sooner, and paste works more reliably with Universal Clipboard, permission prompts, rich text, images, and plain text.
1.1.4 Jun 23
Improved the native editor experience and stability. The native editor is now the only writing entry, and the previous editor entry has been removed.
1.1.3 Jun 16
Refined the new editor's empty-line cursor behavior. When you start typing on an empty line, the insertion point now stays in the expected position instead of jumping as text appears.
1.1.2 Jun 11
Improved iCloud sync reliability while you keep writing. If a diary is edited again while an earlier version is still uploading, Dawnary now keeps the newer change queued and avoids marking it as synced before it has actually reached iCloud.
1.1.1 Jun 6
Dawnary now includes a new editor that you can turn on from Settings > Experimental Features, with the option to switch back at any time. The new editor saves visible changes before sharing, closing, or backgrounding, keeps date edits date-only, supports private/delete/share/copy actions, and sends local changes into iCloud sync automatically. Cross-device updates and temporary sync status messages are also more reliable.
1.1.0 Jun 2
Media handling is smoother and more reliable. Save and share actions now reflect real completion or cancellation, long share-image exports use native encoding to reduce memory pressure, photo thumbnails load faster, and blocked photo access shows a clear Settings dialog. Companion Letters now live under Settings > Experimental Features with clearer AI service errors, Writing Prompt has been removed, and iOS launch handling is lighter and more stable.
1.0.42 May 17
Companion Letters are now easier to set up and calmer to read. Letter timing now focuses on first launch or a specific weekly time, and the reading panel gives the message balanced margins while removing the in-panel avatar for a cleaner layout.
1.0.41 May 11
Companion Letters now handle custom letter ranges more consistently. The focus setting is back in Companion settings, letters use the correct diary window instead of a fixed recent range, and pending companion-decided letters are less likely to get stuck. The letter panel also shows your companion more clearly while a letter is waiting, generating, or ready.
1.0.40 May 6
Companion Letters are now more flexible and persistent. You can choose when letters arrive, let your companion decide when a new letter is worth writing, and revisit past letters from the archive. Companion impressions, personal information, and memory can also stay in sync across your devices with iCloud. This update also adds weekday labels to the review calendar, improves Search back gestures, and includes iOS stability improvements.
1.0.39 May 5
iCloud sync is now safer when the same diary is open on multiple devices: remote updates received while writing are retried later, and Dawnary asks which version to keep before replacing anything when both this device and iCloud changed the same diary. Home also supports pull-to-sync, and Weekly Letter loading no longer shows duplicate typing animations.
1.0.38 Apr 26
Weekly Letter settings are now clearer and easier to use. The current model now appears as a dedicated card with provider icon, custom models are managed from the same model picker, and clearing a custom model keeps the custom entry so you can reconfigure it later. Weekly Letter generation is also more reliable, with better handling for incomplete AI responses.
1.0.37 Apr 20
Added Timeline and two-column card layouts to the diary page, with direct access to search from the top of the list.
