normally i don't go into any app and write a review like this but.. okay i had to. me and my bf have been doing long distance for almost a year now and we tried literally everything. couple apps, those widget things, even those weird matching bracelets lol. nothing actually felt like him.then i found thumbkiss and idk it just hits different. you press your thumb on the screen and when he presses his at the same spot it's like.. you can actually feel each other? sounds dumb i wouldn't have believed it either but it really does something. the little kiss animation makes me giggle every single time, no joke.but the real game changer is all the stuff you can do together in real time. we watch videos perfectly synced, like literally pause at the same second and react together which we never got right on facetime + youtube before. and the games?? we play them every night before bed now, it's become our whole thing. you also see his thumb moving on your screen live as he's doing it, and watching him type letter by letter (catching the backspaces and rewrites lol) is somehow so intimate. the heatmap that builds up from all our little sessions is just a soft cute record of us.what i love is it's not trying to be a whole social media or chat app or whatever. couple apps usually feel cluttered with random features nobody uses but this one feels intentional. like someone actually thought about what missing your person feels like in real time, not just sending a heart emoji and calling it a day.tldr: if you're long distance or even if your partner just travels a lot, get it. it's the closest thing to actually being with them when you can't. ten outta ten, my boyfriend says hi 🫶
