Now you can try Echo before you subscribe.
Some days fill up with photos but never make it into words. Echo reads your own captures and photos and drafts the day for you. A real entry, not a caption. You review it, edit it, keep it, or let it go. Nothing is ever saved without you.
New in this version:
- Try Echo once, free - Generate one sample memory from your own day and see how it feels, no subscription needed
- Agent subscribers get a fresh draft automatically, every day
- Every draft is always pending your review. You decide what becomes an entry
- Pause or turn it off anytime
- Built on your private vault. No outside data, no sharing.
Plus stability and polish across capture, your vault, and Echo.
2.11.5 5d ago
DiaryVault Agent — a new premium tier.
The Agent drafts your day in your own voice, ready for you to review. Each draft pulls from what you wrote, captured, and photographed. You see the source, edit anything, and approve before it becomes part of your journal.
Settings → Auto-Draft Agent to enable. Drafts inbox shows what is pending.
Performance and polish improvements throughout.
2.11.0 May 28
Polished writing experience. Write a memory now features a warm writing card, inline AI Enhance and Refine with AI chat, mood selector, photo and video attachments, and draft protection. Quick memory saves properly to your vault. All capture flows (photos, writing, voice) now use the same reliable save path. Explore page for discovering shared memory films. Consistent vault language throughout.
2.10.3 May 25
Video first experience. Create cinematic memory videos from your photos. Cleaner result screen with videos saving to your Library automatically. Share to a vault or publish to Home when you're ready.
Improved onboarding with guidance for first-time users. Streamlined navigation lets you swipe between Create, Home, and your Library.
Fixed video generation reliability and removed unused features for a faster, focused experience.
2.10.1 May 21
CREATE MODES:
Choose how Echo interprets your memories. Five emotional modes — Memory, Reflection, Dream, Future Self, and Shared Memory — each shapes the creation differently.
TEXT ARTIFACTS:
Not everything needs to be a video. Create instant reflections, letters, future notes, and memory capsules — written artifacts grounded in your actual journal entries. Unlimited.
MEMORY-GROUNDED CREATION:
Echo now retrieves your past entries when creating artifacts. Reflections reference your real memories, not generic AI prose. Each artifact shows where it came from.
COMMENTS:
React to memories on the Shared Eras feed. Comment on public artifacts from other users.
CINEMATIC CREATIONS:
Premium subscribers get 2 cinematic video creations per month. Video generation remains powered by Google Veo.
2.10.0 May 19
Your memory videos now live at the center of DiaryVault.
Videos appear on your Home feed. Tap any to play full screen.
Smoother, instant playback.
Clearer publishing. The app now tells you when a video is ready to share, and why.
Stability and navigation polish throughout.
2.9.8 May 15
This update strengthens content safety and account controls on the public Shared Eras feed:
- Report and Block actions on every shared video (three-dots menu on the right side)
- Settings → Blocked Users to manage who you've blocked
- Account deletion now uses a 30-day grace period — sign back in anytime within that window to restore your account
- Improved content moderation on videos before they're shared publicly
- "AI-generated" label on all generated videos
2.9.6 May 14
Search your life. A new search pill on Personal Vault finds any entry, photo, or capture across your entire archive. Filter by entries, captures, photos, or voice. Search now surfaces your passively-logged signals (photos, voice notes, daily captures), not just journal entries — so a search for "ramen" finds both the entry where you wrote about ramen and the day you logged a ramen photo.
Bug fixes:
- Removed a duplicate Write Today / Speak it instead button flash that briefly appeared on app open
- Internal search backend rebuilt with full-text indexes for faster results at scale
2.9.5 May 11
Import from Day One — bring your existing journal across, with text and photos preserved exactly as you wrote them. Long-time Day One users with thousands of entries can now finally have everything in one place. Find it in Settings → Import from Day One.
Plus bug fixes:
- Life Signal share now opens reliably
- On This Day memories from earlier years now open correctly
- Identity card layout fixed in feed and Eras views
- Keyboard no longer pops unexpectedly after viewing AI cards
- Echo chat dates now display correctly
2.9.4 May 7
A redesigned Personal Feed and the foundations of a smarter Today.
What's new in 2.9.2
Personal Feed, redesigned. Your entries now appear as picture rich cards. Photos lead. Text only entries get a beautiful cream and gold anchor card with a serif pull quote from your own words. Your archive feels less like a list and more like a memory.
Smarter Today, quietly. Behind the scenes, every entry you write now feeds a new layer called captures. Captures are atomic life signals, the small moments that together become tomorrow's reflections, weekly recaps, and future Echo memories. You don't need to do anything. It just makes the rest of DiaryVault smarter over time.
Faster, calmer pull to refresh. The Personal Feed now uses a clean, lightweight refresh indicator that gets out of the way of your photos. Hoppie still lives on the Today screen.
Stability and polish. Various fixes to feed pagination, photo loading, and shared eras visibility. All shared eras cards now have covers.
This update sets up two big things coming next: an AI rendered Today, and a real day close ritual. Thank you for journaling with us.
2.9.2 May 5
Three things to verify:
1. Three-page swipe. After login, you land on the Today page (the home center). Swipe right to Shared Eras (a feed of public moments from other users — anonymous chapters of life). Swipe left to the personal entry feed. The Today page is the launching surface for new entries.
2. Write My Day on Today. From the Today landing page, tap "Write My Day". AI generates a draft from the demo account's signals. You can refine with the sparkle (auto_awesome) chat panel before saving, or save directly. The X button prompts Save / Discard / Cancel.
3. Speak today. From Today, tap "Speak today". Voice recording starts in fullscreen. Speak a few sentences, the AI transcribes and polishes into an entry, and the user reviews before saving.
The AI refinement features from 2.9.0 (sparkle icon → chat panel for editing existing entries or unsaved drafts) work identically in this release.
The demo account is premium; the paywall flow is not exercised in normal review. All AI features use Google Gemini server-side. No content generated locally. User reviews and saves all output explicitly. Entries encrypted at rest.
2.9.1 (74) May 5
Refine entries with AI chat. Tap the sparkle icon on any entry to open a chat panel below the editor. Tell the AI what to change ("make this shorter", "add more reflection", "I forgot to mention I had coffee with Sarah") and watch your title and content rewrite live. Available on Edit Entry and Write My Day. The AI never saves on its own. You always review and tap Save.
Bigger photo and video previews when editing entries.
Cleaner first run. New users land on home and start journaling today instead of being asked to import their photo library upfront. Past photo import is now a deliberate option in Settings, not a forced first-run step.
Several smaller fixes and improvements.
2.9.0 (73) May 2
Video is now a first-class citizen in DiaryVault.
- Import videos from your camera roll alongside photos — up to 16 per entry
- Pinch-to-zoom and drag-to-dismiss in the fullscreen video viewer
- Video moments appear in Life Eras chapters
- Echo's chat backdrop now includes your video memories
Plus several import improvements:
- New "Import past memories" option in Settings — pick any date range to backfill older photos and videos
- Faster cancel: stopping an import now takes effect within seconds
- Skipped video count now visible after import (videos longer than 60 seconds are skipped to keep things responsive)
2.8.0 (72) Apr 29
Faster photos. Pinch to zoom. A more solid foundation.
- Photos no longer flash when you open an entry. They load instantly from cache, even after you scroll away and come back.
- Pinch with two fingers in the photo viewer to zoom in up to 4x. Drag to pan around the image. Standard photo gestures, finally.
- Behind the scenes: photo storage is now hardened with signed URLs that expire automatically. Your memories stay private without you having to think about it.
Thanks for journaling with us.
2.6.1 (68) Apr 27
Reflections you write yourself
Capture your own reflection right after each entry — one quick line in your own words. The capsule slides up after the AI finishes, so you can name what's underneath the day before it disappears.
Looking back at what you wrote
The Reflection screen now surfaces your own words from the past 30 days. Not the AI's summary — your reflections, with the dates they happened, ready to read again.
Patterns you keep coming back to
Life Progress now shows the recurring threads in how you describe your life. Sentence-level patterns, not just tag clouds. The kind of observations that feel like the app actually noticed something about you.
2.6.0 Apr 25
