This is the most accurate step counter I’ve used so far. I’ve used it both for tracking my steps on the way to work and during walks around a park, and in both cases the in-app step counter performed really well. The accuracy is genuinely impressive. The UI is simple and focused, without clutter from exercises I don’t usually do. I really love its simplicity. The app stays centered on core walking-related features, which is exactly what I was looking for.I wanted something that could track my steps without relying on a smartwatch, since I often forget to wear mine when I head out for quick errands. The accuracy of this app makes it a perfect fit for me.

Made for iPhone Duo
Steply now adapts to iPhone Duo, whether it's folded or open.
• On the large inner display, Home and Trends lay out in two columns, and Steply rotates with your phone.
• Folded, the outer display keeps the familiar one-column layout, and Home's buttons sit in the side bar so the screen stays clear.
• Prop it up half-open while you record a walk: your live stats stay on the upright half and the controls rest on the flat half.
• Held open like a book, maps and pop-ups stay clear of the fold.
• On wide screens, Hydration puts the amount picker right beside the bottle.
Quicker step goals
In Step Goal, Suggested Goals is now Quick Pick. It's a menu that shows every preset at once, so you no longer have to scroll sideways.
Small touches
• On iOS 26 and later, sheets close with the system's checkmark button.
• The space left below the plans on the subscription screen is gone.
Thank you for using Steply! Keep stepping towards your health goals!

Bug fixes and various minor improvements.
2.31.0 Oct 18
19 new Apple Watch complications
More ways to put Steply on your watch face, so every face style has a complication that fits:
• Circular: Three Rings (steps, active calories and active minutes), Steps Dial, Steps Minimal, Day Clock (today's steps hour by hour around a 24-hour dial), Week Dots and Floors.
• Rectangular: Activity Summary, Progress Bars, Distance Hero, Goal ETA (when you'll reach your goal at today's pace) and Week Summary.
• Inline: Active Minutes, Floors, Week and Goal ETA.
• Corner: Active Minutes Gauge, Steps Label, Pace and Floors.
Bolder rings
Ring complications now have a thicker ring that sits fully inside the circle, so they're easier to read at a glance.
The whole day in Hourly Activity
The Hourly Activity complication now shows today from midnight to midnight, with times along the bottom. Before, it showed a 12-hour window that shifted every hour.
Distance that matches Health
When you record a walk with Steply on Apple Watch while your iPhone is also counting, Steply now counts overlapping minutes only once, the same way the Health app does. On those days, your distance and calories no longer come out higher than in Health.
A weekly chart that stays current
In the watch app, today's bar in the 7-day chart now grows as you walk, and the chart moves on to the new day after midnight.

A fresh look for your steps
Two new step colors: Sky and Neon. Sky is a bright blue, and new installs now start with it. If you've already picked a color, you'll keep it. Change it any time in Settings.
Walking heart rate, redrawn
The walking heart rate card on Home now shows a clear line chart. Its days line up with the day strip above it, and each day shows its reading in BPM. The detail page is rebuilt too:
• The top of the page shows the day's reading and a color bar with where it falls on the efficiency scale, plus what that means.
• A 30-day chart you can press and drag to read any day.
• Days without a reading appear as gaps, never as made-up values.
• Past weeks are labeled with their dates.
Comparisons that read better
• Compare now shows your current period's total in large type, with the period you're comparing against right below it.
• A small spinner shows while new numbers load.
• A new button clears the reading when you're done dragging.
Your Home layout stays put
If you've reordered the sections on Home, Steply now keeps your order. New sections added in future updates will appear next to their neighbors instead of rearranging your layout.
Small touches
In Activity Patterns and the week, month and year details, Step Velocity and Steps by Hour now come before the Activity Clock.

Compare any two weeks, months or years
Trends has a new Compare page. Put last week against this one, September against August, or 2025 against 2026, and watch them race day by day. Drag the running total to read either side at any point, then dig into every number head to head, your weekday rhythm, and the days that moved the needle. Steps, distance, calories, active minutes and floors - and a period still in progress is always measured fairly against the same stretch of the other.
Choose how far back Steply looks
New in Settings > Data History. Achievements, lifetime totals and the Trends year picker can span your last year, five years, ten, or everything in Health. Go quick or go deep - Steply always tells you which window it's using.
Sharper watch complications
Faster refreshes on your wrist, and rock-solid accuracy around daylight saving changes.

Your day, on one screen
The Today page on Apple Watch now fits. The step ring sizes itself to your watch, and distance, calories and floors sit in one strip beneath it - the whole day in a glance instead of a scroll.
Your own glasses on the watch face
The water card in the Smart Stack now carries your own presets, in the order you arranged them. Your glass, your bottle and your mug of tea are each one tap.

One water ladder everywhere
The water widget now uses the same amounts as the app and the watch: 50 ml / 2 oz steps up to 1.2 L / 40 oz. The number on the tile and the bars beneath it always agree, and presets can be set to any of those amounts too - a full 40 oz bottle included.

A calendar for every metric
The date calendar now draws whichever metric you want to read it for: steps, distance, calories, active minutes or flights. Pick one from the dropdown above the grid and every day fills in that metric's own color. Your choice sticks, so the calendar reopens on whatever you were last looking at.
Your month at a glance
The calendar now sums up the month on screen above the grid: your daily average, your best day, and how many days met your goal - or the month's total, for the metrics this app sets no goal for. Every number comes from the same days drawn underneath it.
Arrange your home screen from the home screen
Reordering and hiding home sections has moved out of Settings and into the home header, right beside the calendar button. Drag your sections into the order you want, switch off the ones you never look at, and see the result the moment the sheet closes. The editor itself is rebuilt: what it does and how many sections are on are answered before you scroll, and the hide button steps aside while you are dragging.
Weekly Progress widget, no longer clipped
The 7 Days widget now sizes itself to the height it is actually given, so the title at the top and the goal line at the bottom stop being cut off on shorter phones - and in Chinese, Japanese and Korean, where taller text pushed the layout further still. The space goes back to the chart, so the bars are bigger everywhere.
Also in this update
• A Today pill appears in the calendar the moment you page away, and takes you straight back
• The calendar is readable in Light Mode: the title and close button are no longer white on a white sheet
• Month headings now follow your own language's order rather than the English one
• The 7 Days widget's goal line now crosses every bar at the same height
• Various fixes and refinements throughout

Log water from your watch face
Two new complications put a Log button on your watch face and in the Smart Stack. One tap adds your usual glass, without opening the app.
Arrange your Apple Watch pages
Settings > Watch Pages lets you drag the watch app's pages into the order you want and switch off the ones you never use. The first one is the page your watch opens on.
Water on the Watch, rebuilt
Dial any amount with the Digital Crown instead of picking between three fixed presets. Add is pinned to the bottom of the screen, so it is never something you have to scroll to.
Logging water is one screen again
The Hydration tab no longer scrolls. The bottle sits at the top, the amount ladder sits under your thumb, and any amount up to 1 L / 40 oz is one slide and one tap away. Your full record is in the calendar in the toolbar.
Also in this update
• Bigger tap targets on the home screen water widget
• Water settings now reach your Apple Watch in about a second
• More of the app translated across all 39 supported languages
• Various fixes and refinements throughout

2.23.0 Aug 29
Hydration, rebuilt
The Hydration tab has a brand-new glass bottle that fills as your day goes on, and logging a drink is now a single slide-and-tap - no presets to configure and no extra sheet to open.
• A new History screen: page back through every month to your very first log, tap any day to see the drinks in it, and take in the whole year at a glance
• Every day in the calendar is shaded by how close you came to your goal, so a month reads in a second
• New insights that spot your patterns once there is enough data to say something real
Trends that drill down
The Trends tab now reads as one ladder: pick a year, pick a month inside it, then see that month’s weeks. Every step scopes the next, so the card at the bottom always reflects what you picked at the top. Shorter page, same information, and it opens on this week where you would expect it to.
Steps by Hour is now a wave
Your day is drawn as one continuous curve instead of a row of bars you had to scroll sideways through, so the shape of the day is the reading and you scrub for the numbers. It is used everywhere hourly steps appear - Home, Trends, and the weekly, monthly and yearly breakdowns.
A home for your achievements
Achievements now have a screen of their own: a completion ring, the badges you are closest to unlocking, lifetime stats and the full trophy case. Badge details show the number you actually reached, not just the target you had to clear.
An evening reminder that knows what kind of day you are having
One evening nudge, rewritten from your latest step count right up until it arrives, and quietly withheld once the day is as good as won. No more being reminded at 7 about a goal you hit at 5.
12-hour or 24-hour, your call
• Settings > Units & Formats now has a Time Format picker. Leave it on System to follow your phone, or set it just for Steply.
On the Home screen
• The comparison card shows yesterday and the same weekday last week right on Home
• Activity Patterns shows the shape of your day, when it peaked and which stretch of it carried the steps
• Unlock Treats shows the treat you are currently walking towards
• Weight Management shows your weight, your target and the gap between them
Also in this update
• A new notifications page during onboarding, with a preview of what Steply actually sends
• Join the community - r/Steply is now linked from Settings
• More of the app translated across all 39 supported languages
• Various fixes and refinements throughout

Hydration - track your water in Steply
A new Hydration card on the Home screen lets you log a drink with a single tap. Choose a preset, watch it fill, or undo it if you tapped the wrong one. Everything is saved to Apple Health as Water, and drinks logged in other apps appear here too.
• An automatic daily goal based on your weight and how much you walk - or set your own
• Six drink types: water, sparkling water, coffee, tea, juice, and other
• Millilitres or fluid ounces
• Reminders during the hours you choose, with Log and Remind Me in 30 Min buttons right in the notification - and they stop automatically once you’ve reached your goal
• Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets with one-tap logging
• On Apple Watch: a dedicated Hydration page, a Digital Crown dial for custom amounts, and three complications
• Your goal, unit, and quick-add presets sync across all your devices
• Week and month history with streaks, goals met, daily averages, and weekday-versus-weekend insights
Share your awards
• Touch and hold any award - or open it and tap Share - to create a card with the badge, the date you earned it, and your achievement. Awards that are at least 25% complete share a progress card instead.
Choose how the Home day strip works
• Go to Settings > Display > Day Strip to choose between Calendar Week and Last 7 Days, so the strip can end on today instead of showing days that haven’t happened yet.
Fixes
• Fixed a bug where updating the app could silently reset your theme, units, step color, and week-start preferences
• Sharing a workout, trend, or route now provides haptic feedback, and saving or copying an image now shows a brief confirmation
