BETTER BATTERY LIFE
Astray now scales GPS precision to how far you still have to travel. Far from
your stop, it sips power using coarse positioning; as you get close, it switches
to full precision so your alarm lands exactly where it should. Location tracking
also stays completely off until you actually start a trip, and the compass only
runs while the map is on screen.
ARRIVAL NOTIFICATIONS THAT STAY PUT
Arrivals, transfers and off-route warnings now leave a notification you can
scroll back to. Previously, once you dismissed the alarm there was no record it
ever fired. Fixed a bug where these alerts were being silently suppressed while a
journey was running — exactly when you needed them most.
RECENT SEARCHES
Your last destinations now appear the moment you tap the search box, no typing
required. They clear themselves after 24 hours, and you can clear them yourself
any time. Works when setting a single alarm and when adding stops to a journey.
FEWER FALSE WRONG-TURN ALERTS
Wrong-turn detection now ignores imprecise location readings. A single bad GPS
fix in a tunnel or between tall buildings could previously make the app think you
were heading away from your stop when you weren't.
