We resolved an bug that was causing the app the crash when math facts 1,2 and 3 were unselected. We also added recovery from a Last Know Good state if the app does crash related to bad saved data. This will allow the app to continue to run rather than be in an unusable state. Thank you to one of our customers for bringing this to our attention and working with us to pin point the bug.

New: Parent Setup Checklist Setting up parental controls just got easier. We’ve added a new Parent Setup Checklist that guides you through the most important steps to protect your child’s device and customize learning settings. Each item shows a clear checkmark when complete and takes you directly to the right setting. The checklist helps you: Authorize Screen Time access Choose which apps are blocked Prevent deleting apps Set the number of math problems required Choose math topics Configure re-lock intervals (Optional) Set bedtime and homework schedules Once all required steps are complete, the checklist automatically collapses to keep the screen clean — and you can always show it again if needed. Bug Fix: Schedule Unlock Issue Resolved We’ve fixed an important issue related to schedules. Previously, if a child completed math problems during an earn schedule but did not tap Done, and later tapped Done during a strict schedule, apps could unlock incorrectly. This behavior has now been fully resolved: Apps will only unlock when math problems are completed and confirmed during an active earn period. Strict schedules now remain enforced as intended.

What’s New in Screen Time Math Challenge This update adds powerful new scheduling options, clearer structure, and important reliability improvements to help families manage screen time with confidence. New Screen Time Scheduling You can now create separate weekday and weekend schedules to better match your family’s routine. Bedtime Schedule (Strict) Set defined bedtime hours when selected apps remain locked automatically. These locks are strict and cannot be bypassed by solving math, helping protect sleep and nighttime routines. Homework / Focus Time Schedule (Strict) Create focused periods during the day when distracting apps stay locked. Like bedtime, these schedules are strict and remain locked regardless of math progress, reinforcing consistent focus time. These schedules run automatically in the background, reducing daily reminders and setting clear expectations ahead of time. New Interval Lock (Earn-Based) The new Interval Lock introduces earn-based screen time throughout the day. Choose an interval between 3 and 24 hours When the interval ends, selected apps automatically re-lock Kids must complete a math session to unlock additional screen time This feature is ideal for longer days, weekends, or shared devices and helps prevent unlimited screen use while still allowing kids to earn more time through learning. Manual Shield (Earn-Based) Manual Shield remains an earn-based option that allows parents to temporarily lock apps at any time. Kids can unlock access by completing a math session, making it a flexible tool for on-the-spot structure. Improved Screen Time Authorization Sync We fixed an issue that could cause Screen Time authorization to fall out of sync. Authorization now refreshes more reliably, ensuring your selected apps, schedules, and locks remain enforced as expected. Math Difficulty Update To better support early learners: Addition and subtraction problems now include numbers up to 12 only This adjustment creates a smoother, confidence-building learning experience. Enhanced Setup Tutorial The in-app tutorial has been expanded with clearer, step-by-step guidance to make setup faster and easier, especially for first-time users. Clearer Parent Setting Descriptions Parent settings now include improved descriptions so it’s easier to understand how each option works and when it applies.
