more Sapphire 4.3 — a new diagnosis engine
The on-device models have been fully retrained. Sapphire 4.3 runs a Vision
Transformer alongside the classifier cascade for sharper calls across cars,
boats and homes, and the Home and Diagnosis screens now show which engine is
running. Boats gained five new problem areas: sterndrive/outdrive, trailer,
propane/LPG galley, refrigeration and trim tabs.
Repair guides written for your exact problem
The guide library grew from 106 to over 2,200 — one for each specific fault
the app can identify, instead of one per broad category. A boat autopilot
that won't hold course used to get the same guide as one with a leaking
hydraulic ram; now each has its own steps, tools, safety notes and time
estimate. Every guide was rewritten for the new Sapphire 4.3 knowledge
edition.
Diagnose without a photo.
Some problems have nothing to photograph — an intermittent noise, a smell, a
warning light that has already cleared. Tap "No picture? Tap here to describe
the problem", choose Car, Boat or Home, then type or dictate what's wrong.
You get a ranked list of possible causes rather than a single guess, and you
can keep adding symptoms to narrow it down. It all runs on your device; your
description never leaves your phone.
Get your diagnoses back on a new phone.e
History can now pull your backed-up diagnoses down from the cloud. Previously
the app only ever uploaded them, so a new phone or a reinstall meant an empty
History even though everything was safe on the server. Restoring never
overwrites anything already on your device. Backups now also carry the
diagnosis, confidence, severity, repair instructions, ns and your problem
description alongside the photo, so a restored diagnosis comes back complete.
Two-factor sign-in
If your account has two-factor authentication turned on, you can now sign in
on iPhone and iPad. Enter your email and password, then the code from your
authenticator app — a six-digit code submits itself as soon as you finish
typing, and iOS can fill it in for you.
Your diagnosis allowance follows your account.
Your plan's allowance is now tracked on a rolling 30-day window by the
server, so it moves with your account across devices and reinstalls instead
of resetting when you switch phones. The Diagnosis screen shows what's left
and when it resets. Diagnoses run offline are counted once you're back
online, and only a diagnosis that finishes is counted — a failed analysis is
free.
Fixed
Diagnoses saved while offline were marked "Cloud backed up" as soon as the
network returned, without ever being uploaded. They now upload for real and
stay queued if the upload fails.

1.4.0 Jul 29
Changed
- Updated backend classification engine to improve accuracy across each domain
- Simplified layout/presentation of previous diagnosis results
1.3.9 Jul 19
What's New
* Voice problem descriptions: You can now speak or type a quick description of the problem (like "it clicks but won't turn over") right alongside your photo.
* Private voice typing: Your voice descriptions are translated into text completely on your device using the latest iOS features, keeping your data private.
* Smarter problem detection: We upgraded our visual AI models and added new issue categories, allowing the app to recognize and label your hardware problems with much higher accuracy.
Improvements
* Polished startup screen: The launch screen now features our updated company logo animations, creating a smooth and consistent transition into the app.
* Unified App Clip experience: Opening an App Clip now delivers the exact same smooth visual startup as the full main application.
* Clear "Offline Mode" indicator: When the app switches to its built-in, offline AI model, the screen borders change from blue to orange, letting you know exactly when you are running entirely on-device.
* Cleaner Home screen layout: We redesigned the main screen to make it easier to read. Status chips are more compact, borders are sharper, and the "Synced to cloud" status is now highlighted in clear blue text.
* Refreshed buttons: Updated the "Share PDF" button on the results screen to a clean, neutral gray to better fit the app's modern look.
