Die App wird im Rahmen des Projektes Fit4Klima durch Forschende des Lehrstuhls für Arbeits-, Organisations- und Wirtschaftspsychologie und des Zentrums für Transformationsforschung und Nachhaltigkeit der Bergischen Universität Wuppertal entwickelt und betrieben. Das Projekt Fit4Klima wird im Rahmen der Nationalen Klimaschutz Initiative durch das Bundesministerium für Umwelt, Klimaschutz, Naturschutz und nukleare Sicherheit (BMUKN) aufgrund eines Beschlusses des Deutschen Bundestages gefördert.
