• Every surah remembers where you were: Read al-Baqarah to verse 120, dip into al-Nasr, come back: you are at verse 120 again. That goes for reading and listening, in the app and in CarPlay, and they work together: what you listened to in the car is open in the mushaf at home. Rather start over? One tap on "From the start" as the surah opens. Can be turned off in the Quran settings. • Find your way through the mushaf: Under the page there is now one slider for the whole Quran, with a tick at every juz. Drag it and you see which page, surah and juz is under your finger; let go and the book opens there. Tap "Al-Baqarah · Juz 1 · Page 6" to pick a surah, a verse, a juz or a page number directly. And turning pages: tap the left edge of the page for the next one, the right edge for the previous one. The middle shows or hides the controls, as before. • An open book on iPad and in landscape: On iPad the page is now as large as the screen allows, with the line spacing of the printed book, so no mark ever runs into the line beneath it. Turned sideways the mushaf lies open like a real book: two pages side by side, the odd page on the right and the even page on the left, exactly as in the printed Madinah mushaf. Turn your iPhone and you get one wide page in large print that you read top to bottom. Nothing is stretched or squeezed anymore.

• Prayer times for other places: Tap the place name under the arc and search for a city: where your parents live, or where you will be next week. You see its next prayer right away, in its own local time, and keep the place with one star. Your notifications and alarms keep following your own location. • The app now knows Ramadan: On the 1st of Ramadan, Mizan changes by itself. The arc on the prayer screen becomes a fasting clock: a golden band from fajr to maghrib and a large countdown to iftar. That same countdown lives on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, without opening the app. And at maghrib the fasting person's dua appears, spoken aloud. After Eid it all quietly steps back. • A real alarm for suhoor: A notification wakes nobody. So Mizan now sets a real alarm before fajr: it breaks through silent and Focus and keeps ringing until you stop it. Your choice of 30, 45, 60 or 90 minutes before fajr, automatically at the right time every Ramadan day. • The thirty nights, and what you make up: A calm grid of the whole month that fills itself: every completed day counts as fasted. You only tap the exceptions: missed or excused (illness, travel, menstruation), without judgement. Those days quietly become your make-up counter, alive all year: in the Monday and Thursday fasting reminders, and with a nudge when Sha'ban begins. • Plan your fasting days ahead: After maghrib the app asks whether you fast tomorrow, exactly how the niyyah works. Plan the coming week with one tap per day, or follow your fixed rhythm: Mondays and Thursdays, or the white days. Planned days automatically get the iftar countdown, the dua reminder and (if you want) the suhoor alarm. • A khatm hung on your prayers: The scholars' classical method, as a mechanism instead of a tip: four pages after every prayer is the whole Quran in one Ramadan. After each prayer your portion is ready; one tap and the mushaf opens on exactly the right page. Fall behind and the plan quietly respreads the rest. Half the Quran or your own pace work too. • The adhan in the car, then your audio carries on: With CarPlay connected the full adhan sounds again at prayer time, right on time. Whatever you were listening to waits: a podcast or YouTube picks up by itself after the adhan, and a Quran recitation from Mizan resumes at the start of the verse where it stopped.

• The Qibla, now front and centre on your prayer screen: The qibla compass now has its own card right under your prayer times, so you never have to hunt for it; it is in Profile too. Done facing it? Just swipe the compass down to close it. And it now points to true north, so the direction is that bit more precise wherever you are. • Diyanet times now correct everywhere: Mizan now always picks the nearest of the more than eight thousand Diyanet locations worldwide, offline and to the metre. Travelling, across the border or abroad, you see exactly the same times as in the official Diyanet app, never your hometown's. • Your times are there instantly: Mizan now opens straight onto your prayer times: no splash screen, no spinner. The times come from your device itself and refresh in the background, so you see them at once even without coverage.

• A verse on your home screen: The verse widget now shows the verse of the day, which changes every night. Under Settings › Widget you choose which verse it holds, whether you see the Arabic, the translation or both, and which language that translation is in, separately from the app's language. With a preview, so you see what you are choosing. • Turn until the mihrab is in front of you: The Qibla finder is now a horizon under the sky of this moment. Somewhere along it stands a mihrab: turn until it is in front of you and it opens right away, with the rub‘ al-hizb in its crown and a short shaped buzz you can feel without looking. The direction itself is truer now: it reckons from true north, and the calibration hint only appears when the compass is genuinely disturbed. • The adhan softer than your phone allows: Your phone's softest step was still too loud for a lot of people. A slider under Notifications › Sound now turns the adhan recording itself down, in the notification and in the alarm. You hear it change as you drag. • Prayer times you can actually read: The times used to sit in tiny type on the arc. They now have a grid of their own below it: large, with the next prayer ringed. And if you raise the text size in iOS, they grow along with it. • Hold a verse, read what it means: Press and hold a verse, in the mushaf or in text view: the menu now shows the verse together with its translation, alongside play, bookmark and memorise. The verse you hold is highlighted exactly, too. • Listening is one tap away: Every surah in the list now has a play button, and the recitation starts right away. A bar at the bottom keeps it going while you move around the app, and tapping it opens the full player. • Pick up where you left off, in the car too: Reading on your phone and listening in CarPlay now keep the same place. Wherever you stop, the other side continues at exactly that verse. • Widgets stay filled: The widget now carries a month of prayer times and tops itself up in the background. No need to open the app to see your times.

• Deen reminders: Short nudges through your day to do dhikr, send salawat or say istighfar yourself. With a spoken arabic call, and you say the words. • Islamic calendar: A note at every new hijri month, and on Ashura, Arafah, the start of Ramadan, the final ten nights and both Eids. • The hour of response: On Friday a nudge in the final hour before Maghrib, worked out from the real Maghrib time for your location. • Live countdown: On the home screen and in the prayer times the counter now ticks down by the second to the next prayer.

Diyanet prayer times worldwide, plus a much better CarPlay experience. - Diyanet times anywhere in the world: Mizan now finds the right Diyanet district for your location, in every country. No more Dutch default times when you are abroad, with a smart geographic fallback when your town is not listed exactly. - CarPlay: the forward and back buttons now move verse by verse, with separate buttons to jump a whole surah forward or back. - CarPlay: an "Up Next" button shows the name of the next surah and opens a tappable queue, so you can keep listening straight away. - CarPlay: the screen now always shows which verse is playing. - Clearer explanation in the adhan alarm about vibration, so you know what iOS does and does not allow. - Various smaller improvements and stability fixes.
