I want to like this game. The fish collecting hunt, which should be the core of the game is really fun. However it quickly turns into a gold grinding slog. I'm playing the Arcade version and it feels like a P2W game that had a cash shop removed with no rebalancing. Basic QoL features like navigation, item storage, rods and bait to catch rare fish, and even area maps (!!!) all cost gold. My 10 slot fish bag, which is all I can afford, means my game is reduced to constant trips to town to sell anything I catch just to stay ahead of basic consumables. Throwing away even one thing feels terrible, plus there is a karma system so I'm penalized for throwing out unavoidable junk that doesn't sell for much gold. Key resources like driftwood take up precious bag slots, nothing stacks, and catching junk puts wear and tear on the consumable rod. Inventory space is also level gated but XP also quickly turns into a slog. I'd love to do my dailies, but I've only unlocked two areas. Both are night time fish and I refuse to be pushed into playing when I don't want to. Why isn't the day/night cycle faster??? One of the quests in town is for a warehouse that doesn't even exist for me. Hopefully the devs will put more consideration into the pacing of the Arcade version but until then my recommendation is just lukewarm.
Thank you for such detailed feedback. We’re actively working on improving the Arcade version. Your comments about progression, inventory, economy, and real-time day/night restrictions are very valuable, and we’ll share them with the team.
