Off 2 3.0 is the biggest update yet: a new way to watch your flight, and chat that keeps working with your phone locked. -- High-altitude camera shots Tap the info panel and the camera rises high above the Earth, like an inflight map, and follows your aircraft with the horizon level. -- Cinematic flight replay Long-press to replay your whole flight in the same high-altitude look, with day sliding into night along the way. The aircraft now turns smoothly onto each new leg, like a real airliner, instead of turning sharply over each waypoint. -- Made for iPad and iPhone Duo Settings, aircraft, itinerary and chat now open in a panel beside the globe, or in the bottom half in portrait, so your flight always stays in view. On iPhone Duo the panel sits on the fold. -- A sharper, faster globe Map detail loads about twice as fast and fades in smoothly instead of popping, and the edge of the globe and the city lights no longer shimmer as you move. -- A real atmosphere The globe's atmosphere is rebuilt with real light scattering: a glowing horizon, soft haze and a sunset ring along the day-night line. The Moon now sits where it belongs, and its silver glow lights the right part of the night side. -- Chat and positions, phone to phone Chat and share your GPS position with nearby Off 2 users without any network, even with screens locked. Messages and positions hop from phone to phone, so the whole cabin can be covered. Connections come back on their own after a drop, and start as soon as the app opens. -- Messages you can trust A private message is retried automatically. If nobody received it, it is marked as not delivered, and a long press lets you send it again. A long press also copies any message. -- A bigger aircraft database Boeing 737 MAX 8, 9 and 10, Airbus A220, A320neo and A330neo, the 777, 747 and 787 families, Embraer E-Jets, COMAC C919 and more, now grouped as Operators, Airliners and Biz Jets, with photo credits. -- Welcome screens A short tour on first launch explains what Off 2 does, and asks for permissions only when you are ready. -- And also Support for the Air France Aircon Hub onboard WiFi. More accurate arrival time right after takeoff. The Apple Watch complication follows the live arrival time. Peer Chat help now explains that messages are not encrypted. The optional high-resolution globe now downloads correctly.

Fixes for the itinerary, the Apple Watch complication, and the onboard map. -- The itinerary no longer crashes Deleting a sector from a multi-sector trip could close the app immediately. That is fixed. Deleting or reordering a sector also no longer moves the times you set on the other legs. -- Your stopovers are respected A stopover you entered by hand is no longer replaced by the automatic 45 or 75 minute value when you change an airport. -- Refuelling stops in the right place When the aircraft cannot reach the end of the next leg, the longer refuelling stop is now planned before that leg instead of after it. -- Boarding passes keep their dates Scanning a pass with legs on different days no longer pulls a next-day flight back onto the previous day, and the date is read in the departure airport's local time. "Scan More" now only adds the new legs and leaves the trip you already planned untouched. -- Apple Watch complication The complication could show a previous flight: the wrong destination, or "arrived" while you were still in the air. It now goes quiet once a flight is over, and keeps counting down on its own during a live flight even when the phone is quiet. -- Onboard position on Panasonic systems On aircraft using Panasonic inflight WiFi, the plotted track could sit up to 24 NM off the real route and move in a stutter-then-jump pattern. The position is now decoded correctly. -- Top of descent The top of descent marker could disappear while still in cruise when there was a strong headwind. It now stays on the same continuous profile as the 10,000 ft marker. -- Mach number When the onboard system reports it, the pilot panel's ground speed row now also shows the Mach number. -- Legs your aircraft cannot fly If a leg is longer than the aircraft's range, that sector is now marked in red. No stopover in front of it can make the leg flyable, so the app says so instead of presenting the trip as valid. -- Smoother when you drag a time Dragging a departure or arrival time no longer redraws the globe on every tick of the wheel.

Fixes for the globe, the Apple Watch complication, and arrival times. -- The globe stays sharp The high-resolution globe could get stuck on blurred imagery after you left the app and came back, or after opening and closing a settings sheet, and it never recovered until you restarted. That is fixed. Detail also appears much faster now: map tiles load several times quicker when you pan or zoom, and returning to the app no longer reloads the whole view. -- Apple Watch complication On watchOS 27 the flight complication could appear as a solid black rectangle on the watch face. It shows your destination, arrival time and progress again. -- "Arrived" at the right moment The arrival label could appear while you were still on final approach, as soon as the estimated time ran out. It now waits until you are actually down and slowing at the destination, and holds the countdown at zero until then. -- Aircraft recognised automatically When the onboard WiFi shares the aircraft registration, the aircraft type is now set reliably, including on routes you have flown before. -- Steadier speed and heading On onboard WiFi that reports position with limited precision, the calculated ground speed and heading are far steadier and no longer swing around. Also: the Day/Night setting now controls the globe's day and night shading as intended, and the lat/lon grid stays switched on after a restart.

A sharper globe, and text you can actually read. -- High-resolution globe (Pilot Mode) Turn on the optional high-detail basemap and the world becomes four times sharper as you zoom in — coastlines, islands, terrain and night-time city lights all hold together much closer in. It downloads once, then works entirely offline like everything else. Settings > Map Display. -- Bigger text as you zoom Airport details, sunrise and sunset times and moonrise and moonset times now grow as you zoom in past 50 km, so the globe stays readable without changing the font size everywhere else. -- A steadier globe Fixed a problem where the globe could stay stuck on blurred imagery after zooming, panning, or leaving the app and coming back. Detail also fills in faster after you move. -- Pilot Mode, clearer Locked Pilot Mode features now appear in Settings instead of staying hidden, so you can see what the unlock includes before buying. Also: small fixes and visual polish throughout.

A new chat and a steadier watch complication. -- Chat, redesigned Everything now lives in one screen: public chat, private messages, and crew groups, with the people around you always visible at the top. It opens as a panel over the globe, matches your light or dark setting, and every area — people, conversations, message box — is clearly separated. It works with the people on board around you, no internet needed. -- Watch complication fixed The complication on your watch face now keeps counting down to arrival on its own, even when the Bluetooth link to the iPhone drops for a while inflight. No more premature "Waiting for iPhone". -- One way to close Settings, Aircraft, Itinerary and Chat now share the same title bar and the same soft close button, in the standard iOS style. Also: small fixes and visual polish throughout.

Arrival times are the big change in this release. -- A smarter ETA The arrival estimate now models the whole flight — climb, step climbs at cruise, and descent — and it is calibrated against real flown routes. Across 21 recorded flights its average live error dropped by 29%, and it no longer jumps around when your speed changes. -- It notices an early descent If the aircraft starts down well before the planned point, Off 2 picks that up and rebuilds the rest of the flight from where you actually are. -- Short flights count down properly On flights under roughly 400 NM the arrival time could stall minutes above zero and then snap to the gate. It now counts all the way down. -- Steadier on the Lock Screen The arrival time in the Live Activity and Dynamic Island no longer drifts later when the aircraft data goes quiet. -- Sets itself up on board Connect to the aircraft wifi and Off 2 fills in your departure and arrival, and recognises the aircraft from its registration. -- Easier to spot yourself The aircraft marker is bigger and clearer, and always draws on top — airport icons and labels no longer hide it. Also: fixed a crash on some Air France onboard wifi networks, and completed translations across all 33 languages.
