Okay so, this is a great game but… there are a few things to be aware of before you download this game. First of all, the ads. There honestly aren’t to many just one before you start a level and a few after you finish a level. The only thing is that it takes you to random websites on your web, and some of them I think are scams. It blows up your safari, google, etc. with tabs and it’s just really annoying because after you finished playing the game, your gonna have like 14 tabs open, and you have to close them all. Second of all, the game times you. It can get really, really stressful because it only gives you 3 or 4 mins to finish, or else you have to spend game currency or watch an ad to keep going. So just keep in mind that it’s not as relaxing as you thought this game would be. It’s also not just that that makes it stressful, it also is hard and gives you no hints. Otherwise, this game is pretty fun. The graphics and sounds are very soothing.

tl:dr, the game mechanics are boring and sometimes inconsistent making it frustrating to complete levels when you have no idea how to cook the dish you’re working with, it has a lot of ads, and is stingy with rewards. but the gameplay loop is fun and the graphics are cute. would be nice if their promo art wasn’t ai though, because it makes me question if ai was used for the actual game as well.it’s a fun, mindless game for when you’re bored. it’s not very imaginative, though, because the game is mostly just “click this, drag that”. it feels like they were going for a cooking mama type thing?? but in cooking mama you could actually DO stuff, in tis game everything is just premade assets you, once again, click and drag to piece together. there’s no consistency in the gameplay mechanics which makes it frustrating at times to figure things out. this is a personal gripe, but when i’ve never cooked the dish we are making, i am obviously not going to know the order of the steps. a recipe system would not ruin the game, it would enhance it. also i suspect ai usage in some of the promo art which is irritating and dampers the enjoyment of an otherwise very cute game. it is fun and i like the wide array of food, it just kind of drives me nuts that we; can’t do anything on your own that would impede or improve your score, get a good handle on the games mechanics because they are always subject change, or get a steady flow of coins because the game is stingy and wants you to literally watch ads to receive the rewards for completing a level? it’s frustrating.

There’s two huge negatives to the game, the ads and the timer. In three levels, I’ve gotten 10 ads. But not only are they constantly popping up 2-3 in a row or show up in the middle of a timed level, they also have a false close button that minimizes your game and forces open websites! The kicker is, you have to tap on the button and open 3rd party websites to get the ad to go away. Any ad like that infuriates me, not only do they feel like they’re trying to dupe the player, they’re also extremely unsafe. It’s shocking these type of ads were ever allowed. The other problem is the timer, I prefer a calm cozy cooking game without timers (since there’s no instructions on how to make any of the recipes), or any way to choose between timed or relaxed gameplay. It feels like the game could be better; adding options, instructions to turn on or off, the ability to choose between a story mode or the current gameplay, cooking guilds (groups of people to join and chat with, share level stats, etc.), and if it had safe ads that aren’t scam-like, (it makes the no ad feature feel like a greedy cash grab, rather than something that helps support the game’s creator.)It’s all very upsetting because it feels like the game could potentially be pretty good, even more so if it’s not created using ai. Unfortunately, the ads are ultimately the thing that ruins it the most. They try too hard to fool you into opening websites, feeling insulting and unsafe, and causing me to not want to give the game another chance.

So overall I wanna say game is cute in concept and art. Congrats. but I’ve played a lot of different games and most have found a “balance” between ad and gameplay time. As well as where ads are placed on your screen and when/how they come up. They fill the screen with ads making it simple to misclick and be open to a wave of ads. Most of the real reviews for this game are complaining about ads and developer response is ‘sorry buy the ad blocker’ very dismissive and not worth it. I put an embarrassing amount of my money into games unfortunately but the force and pressure of these ads are obnoxiously aggressive and it’s kinda gross so. I don’t usually leave reviews but I got aggravated by lvl 3 and that’s kinda ridiculous. Also I got stuck on a lvl because there is basically no direction given and when I do go to use an ad to get a hint it opens up an entire other browser to open the ad which is really scammy and weird then didn’t even give me the hint! Like it needs improvement and hopefully it gets it cause I’d love to get back into this new and improved cause I can see me learning to cook and that’s awesome please do better for all the people that see it’s potential.
