No more awkward angles. Snap a photo of any product and Allerllama automatically extracts barcodes for you. The main scanner now uses this system instead of showing “not yet available.”
Auto OCR on Failed Lookups
If a barcode can’t be found, the app now instantly captures the label and runs ingredient OCR automatically — no extra taps, no mode switching.

Your Allerllama companion now remembers your scan history and spots patterns like “you’ve scanned 3 peanut products today.” Every chat becomes more personal, contextual, and helpful.
Daily Nutrition Dashboard
After every scan, your daily totals update automatically. Track calories, macros, and allergen exposure across your day without lifting a finger.
Full Diet Pattern Analysis
AI chat now looks at your entire scan history — not just the last item — to reveal long‑term eating patterns and habits.

EpiPen Expiry Tracker (New!)
Snap a photo of your EpiPen (or Auvi‑Q, Jext, Emerade, etc.) and Allerllama automatically reads the expiry date using AI‑OCR.
You’ll get reminders 30 days, 7 days, 1 day, and on the day it expires — so you’re never caught without a valid pen.
GS1 Smart Barcode Support (Now Fully Upgraded)
Allerllama now understands GS1 barcodes, the new global standard replacing old barcodes by 2027.
In simple terms:
GS1 barcodes are “smart barcodes” that contain extra product information, like expiry dates, batch numbers, weight, country of origin, and more.
Allerllama now reads the full GS1 data set, including:
GTIN (product ID)
Batch/Lot
Serial number
Expiry & best‑before dates
Production date
Net weight
Price + currency
Country of origin
Packaging URLs
A new GS1 Info Panel shows everything clearly, with colour‑coded expiry warnings and a shortcut to add EpiPens directly to the tracker.
Dual‑Mode Scanner (Barcode + Ingredients)
Scan barcodes, GS1 QR codes, or ingredient labels — the scanner now recognises the difference automatically and analyses the right thing.
No buttons. No switching modes. Just point and scan.
Updated Scan Limits

Premium: 250 scans per month
Family: 1,000 shared scans per month

2.2.5 Mar 22
Premium access is now more dependable than ever. We’ve fixed subscription loading issues, improved how plans and purchases activate, and made the whole app feel smoother and more trustworthy.
2.2.4 Mar 17
This update introduces improvements to product identification and ingredient analysis, along with enhancements to the fallback experience when a product cannot be found. When a scanned barcode is not present in our supported food databases, the app now uses an AI‑based identification step to attempt to determine the product. If a match is found, the app displays the product name, brand, ingredient list, allergen analysis, and a confidence score, and the user can confirm or reject the result.
If neither the database nor AI can identify the product, users can now scan the ingredient label using the device camera. The app extracts and analyzes the text using OCR and AI to provide allergen information directly from the label image.
The previous “product not found” alert has been replaced with a full‑screen interface that provides clearer next steps, including scanning the ingredient label, adding the product manually, or rescanning the barcode.
This release also includes build and stability improvements, resolving issues related to native resource bundles and dependency linking to ensure more reliable operation across devices.
