Version 1.2 -- What's New A Smarter Way to Eat -- Built from the Ground Up We rebuilt Skini's core systems to give you faster, more accurate food intelligence. Here's everything in this update: All-New Food Database Skini now searches four major food databases simultaneously -- FatSecret, Open Food Facts, Chomp, and Edamam -- delivering faster, more accurate nutrition results for barcodes and text searches. Introduced intelligent barcode normalization that automatically converts between UPC-A, EAN-13, and UPC-E formats so more products are recognized on the first scan. Results from multiple sources are merged and scored to surface the most reliable nutrition data available. Added a multi-phase fallback system: if a barcode isn't found, Skini searches by product name across all databases before prompting you to scan the label with AI. Skini Product Database -- Powered by You We're building our own shared product database, similar to how the best food apps work. When a product isn't found, you can photograph the product, nutrition label, and ingredients to add it for everyone. Added a product flagging and verification system. If nutrition data looks wrong, tap the flag icon to report it. After independent reports from multiple accounts, the product is automatically corrected. Added camera zoom and flash support for capturing product photos in any lighting. Redesigned Restaurant Scanner Completely overhauled restaurant menu analysis with smarter search that now checks delivery platforms like DoorDash, UberEats, and Grubhub when direct website results aren't available. Added a local database of over 26,000 verified menu items from 92 chain restaurants via MenuStat, so results for popular chains are instant and accurate. Introduced support for customizable restaurants like Chipotle, CAVA, Sweetgreen, and Subway. Skini now builds optimized meals from individual components rather than just rating fixed menu items. Upgraded the AI engine behind restaurant analysis to our latest model for significantly improved nutrition accuracy and meal recommendations. Simplified Home Screen Streamlined the home page to focus on what matters most -- your recent scans. Moved Steps and Skini Picks to the Progress tab for a cleaner layout. Promoted Skini Concierge to its own dedicated tab for easier access to personalized AI guidance. Removed calorie counting and fasting features to keep the app focused on food quality, not calorie math. Daily Macros at a Glance Added a new Total Daily Macros card on the Progress tab with visual rings for calories, protein, carbs, and fat so you can see your full day in one view. Weight Gain Support Skini now supports weight gain goals. Set a target above your current weight and the app calculates the right calorie surplus and macro targets to help you build, not just cut. Saved Products Save your favorite scanned products with a tap and access them anytime from a dedicated Saved Products list synced to your account. Smarter Subscription Experience AI-powered features now require a subscription, with a streamlined paywall and improved trial flow. Added per-feature daily and monthly usage limits to keep the experience fast and reliable for everyone. Returning subscribers are now automatically detected during sign-up -- no need to re-enter your information. Usage Limits Introduced transparent daily usage limits for AI features. Free users get a taste of every feature, and subscribers get generous daily allowances across scans, searches, and restaurant analysis.

Version 1.1 What's New: No More Calorie Counting -- We removed manual calorie tracking. Skini handles the math so you can focus on making better food choices, not logging numbers. Improved Navigation Bar -- The bottom tab bar now sits properly against the bottom of the screen for a cleaner, more comfortable layout. Smarter Macro Calculations -- Your personalized plan now sets protein to 1g per pound of your goal body weight, with carbs and fat calculated from the remaining calories for a more accurate nutrition breakdown. Optimized Macro Customization -- The "Customize Your Macros" screen now defaults to the optimal protein ratio for your goal weight instead of a generic percentage, so your plan is dialed in from the start. Restored Onboarding Layouts -- Refined spacing across onboarding screens for a better visual experience.
