Calibre View lets you browse and search your Calibre ebook library on iPhone and iPad, using cloud storage or local files on your device.
Connect your existing Calibre library and explore your entire collection with fast searching, flexible sorting, and powerful filtering, all in a clean, native iOS and iPadOS interface designed for libraries large and small. (Tested with a 16,000-book library!)
Whether you want to quickly find a specific book or explore your collection by tags, authors, or series, Calibre View is built to stay responsive and organized, even with very large libraries.
Key Features
• Connect to Calibre libraries stored in Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, WebDAV, iCloud, or the Files app
• Optionally upload only your metadata.db file to browse your library without downloading covers or books
• Fast loading, even for huge libraries (a 16,000-book library opens in about 4 seconds)
• Advanced search with AND, OR, NOT, exact phrases, and column searches like authors:austen or tags:"science fiction"
• Customize which columns appear in the book list, similar to Calibre's desktop view, saved separately for each library
• Sort by any Calibre column, including custom columns
• Filter books instantly using tags, authors, series, and other metadata fields
• View detailed book information and customize what appears on the book details screen
• Tap a tag or author in detail view to see every matching book, sorted just like your library
• Long-press to copy titles, authors, tags, and summaries
• Choose a column for Quick Filter to refine search results, authors, or tags
• Covers are downloaded on demand only when viewing book details, saving bandwidth and storage
• Download books locally and share or open them in other reading apps in any available format
• Support for multiple libraries, with quick switching between them, even across different cloud services
• Optimized layouts for both iPhone and iPad, including optional horizontal scrolling for portrait phone use
• Works fully offline once a library is downloaded (covers and book downloads require connectivity)
• Supports both light mode and dark mode

I love this app and highly recommend it. I was able to sync my entire Calibre library of 33,000+ books from OneDrive in less than TWO minutes! The layout is perfect and I appreciate being able to tap on the author’s name to see all their books and the series name to see all the books in the series.

Original review: Synced with my calibre library from Dropbox. It sees all the books. Everything shows up. Doesn’t open any books. API error. I got excited for a moment for how slick it was.Updated: Developer figured out the issue, updated and fixed it. Great job!

I dug into this in the code and fixed a few things that could be causing you issues. I can't guarantee it will work for you when the app updates on the app store but if you still have issues, please reach out to me at calibreviewapp@gmail.com and I will work on fixing it.
works perfectly, thank you!

it took less than two minutes from downloading this app to viewing my entire Calibre library that's stored on Dropbox. No plugins to add to Calibre and no demand that I create yet another account. Thank you for building an app that just works. 🙏
Many thanks!

I’d been using another app but had problems lately. And let’s face it… this likely fills a small niche in the larger iOS/iPadOS market. There are not a lot of options if one falters. Much to my relief and joy - this app handles my connection via WebDAV (a niche within a niche?) like a champ!
Developer Response
I’m glad WebDAV works well. I don’t use the service myself but it was requested to be added during the app’s beta and I was able to add it but only tested it a little bit. (WebDAV was both easier then adding Google or OneDrive but more complicated due to how big the field is.) Calibre View came to be because I wanted something like it on my iPad and I couldn’t find exactly what I wanted and so I just did it myself. I’m glad the app is working for you and feel free to submit feature requests or bugs and I’ll see what I can do! 😊
• Libraries open up to 3× faster, especially large ones
• Optional tip jar in Settings → About for anyone who'd like to support development
• New Share Logs button and more detailed logs to help with troubleshooting
• Fixed a rare issue where switching libraries while one was loading could show the wrong books
