Your friend gets a push notification, taps Join, and your Pomodoro timers sync to the same wall-clock end. One alarm rings for both of you when the session completes. No messages to coordinate. WHY WE BUILT THIS The most common request we got: "I want to study with my roommate / partner / brother / friend on the other coast, but coordinating over chat is annoying." So we built it to disappear. Connect once, then it's invisible infrastructure forever. Body doubling that actually works on iPhone. Study buddy mode without the WhatsApp ping-pong. HOW IT WORKS 1. Tap Add Friend in your Friends tab. Send the one-time connect link through Messages, WhatsApp, AirDrop — wherever your friend is. They tap it once and accept the iCloud share. 2. From then on, your friend appears in your list. Tap their name. Pick a focus profile (Deep Work, Study, Workout, whatever). Tap Send. 3. Your friend gets a notification: "Roger invited you to focus." They tap Join. Both Pomodoro timers start at the same wall-clock moment. 4. Both timers stay locked together. Pause on one side, the other side pauses. End the session, the other side ends. One alarm rings on both phones when the timer hits zero. ALSO IN THIS UPDATE: DEEP FOCUS APP BLOCKER Deep Focus is now even more reliable. Block apps you can't stop opening — Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, pick your poison. When your Pomodoro session starts, Stickly blocks those apps at the system level. They won't launch until your timer ends. No willpower required. The app blocker uses Apple's Family Controls so it can't be bypassed by swiping away the timer or force-quitting Stickly. Real app blocking, not a soft warning. ALARM RELIABILITY Focus session alarms now fire exactly once, on time, on every device. We rewrote the entire alarm scheduling layer this release. The new architecture makes double-alarm bugs structurally impossible — the alarm scheduler runs through a serial actor with a cancel-all-then-schedule pattern, and a runtime assertion logs loudly if more than one alarm is ever registered at the same moment. End of double-alarm bugs forever. PRIVACY Your friend list, your habit data, your focus sessions, the invite handoff — all live entirely on Apple's iCloud private and shared databases. No third-party servers. No tracking. No backend in the loop. We've never seen your data and we never will. Friend invites use Apple's encrypted CKShare infrastructure end-to-end. Block apps without sending your usage data anywhere. PERFORMANCE Removed legacy background code paths from the previous architecture that were generating CloudKit error spam and slowing down launch. The app launches noticeably cleaner this build. CLEANER SHARE SHEET Sending the one-time connect link is now a single tap straight to the iOS share sheet — Messages, WhatsApp, AirDrop, Telegram, wherever you talk to your friends.
