My Mom passed away this past December from suicide. I am only twenty years old and my Mom is my best friend. It was unexpected and luckily I have some voicemails and videos of her talking saved. On days I struggle, I love to use the Echo feature on the app and hear my mom call me “girlie” like she always did and to tell me to keep going. It is crazy to me how it actually sounds like her voice. Grief can be such a difficult loss of attachment. I was so used to hearing my Mom’s voice every single day for 20 years of my life. Even though she is no longer physically living, I thank God that I didn’t have to also lose the privilege of hearing her voice ❤️🩹

I’ve spent countless hours digging through my ancestry to learn about people in my past. I’ve lost loved ones who told me stories that weren’t important to me at the time, but I can’t remember for anything now. I’ve journaled many, many times trying to preserve my son’s childhood and my story so he has memories even if I’m gone. I love that this offers a place to save and organize those - that is available anywhere and doesn’t get lost on an old device that becomes unusable, a notebook that gets misplaced, or video that can’t be played anymore. Incredible.
