Forge Merge began with a simple request from my son: he wanted a merge game without ads or having to spend money. I built one for him—and turned it into an opportunity to learn while he played.
Forge Merge has grown since then, but that idea hasn't changed: make a game that's fun to play, rewarding to progress through, and something parents can feel good about handing to their kids.
This game does not tell you the object of the game, or what the rules of that game are. It doesn't provide a tutorial to explain anything, you are left trying to piece it together yourself. There are several screens where words are cut off due to aspect ratio errors and there are several glitches in the animation while moving tiles. It could be improved with explanations of the object of the game, a tutorial, and cleaner animation and aspect ratios.
Developer Response
You’re 100% right version 1 had some flaws. I originally made it specifically for my son to help with some problems he was having in school but some of the concepts weren’t great and it was a little clunky. I just released version 2 and I’m not going to promise that it’s solved all those issues but I think it has improved a bit. If you would consider trying it again and hopefully giving it a better rating if you feel it has improved I would appreciate it. Also please let me know if you feel it could use more improvements (which I’m sure it could) my developer email is 6369apps@gmail.com It will never be to the level of some of the apps on the App Store I’m just an independent developer trying to make apps that I see could help people. But I’m always trying to improve and do right by people that are kind enough to give my apps a try and I always try to listen the feedback of those that use my apps. Like I said I’m an independent developer so sometimes it’s hard for me to see the flaws and i depend on feedback like this to improve. This update brings a cleaner experience, expanded learning content, and more ways to play and learn. The original idea remains the same: a merge game that’s fun to play while creating opportunities to learn along the way.
