The big one. The iPad, the Caddie, and a chat worth reading. DUFFERS ANONYMOUS ON iPAD. Trips in a split view, and three screens built for the big one: the Commissioner Console (drag players between groups, set teams, watch the money), Draft Night (captains pick on their phones, the iPad is the board), and Clubhouse Mode: standings, the course, the side games and the chat, cycling on the TV in the rental or clubhouse. ASK THE CADDIE. Who's leading? What do I owe? Where are we staying? Ask in the trip and get an answer from your trip's own numbers. The Caddie also plans the trip with you now, a short interview instead of a form, and runs the scramble day: lock in the field, post the flights, keep the live board, post the results. STANDING GROUPS. Your regular game gets a home: a group with its own code, an outing whenever you play, and a season ledger that carries from one to the next. THE CHAT GREW UP. Photos in the trip chat and in messages, link previews, replies, and fifteen minutes to fix a typo. Team matches score by the rule you chose. WHERE WE'RE STAYING. Lodging, rooms and the day-by-day on the trip page, so nobody asks what time the shotgun is. Under the hood, joining a trip, sharing a Caddie answer and posting a recap all go through the server now, and chat photos are private to the people in that chat.

Fixes from a real round, for your next one. THE SCREEN STAYS ON while you're on the round screen, no more unlocking your phone between shots to find the app starting over. Every glance is right where you left it. THE WATCH STAYS WITH YOU. The round now reliably keeps the watch app running for the whole 18 (and closes your rings while it's at it). If your watch asks for Health access, say yes. That's what keeps it awake. Plus: the version number in your profile now tells the truth.

The one for whoever's waiting at home. FOLLOWING YOUR ROUND. Add someone from your profile and they get a private link. No app, no account needed. It shows how many holes you've played, when the round should finish, and about when you'll be home, worked out from the pace you're actually playing. No map, no dot moving around a course, just the answer to the only question they had. A HANDICAP, FINALLY. The app now keeps a Duffers Anonymous index from your completed rounds, one decimal, like you'd expect, with the full scoring record behind it. It's our calculation, not an official USGA index. Your index shows on the tee-time card, and hand-entered handicaps take a decimal now too (12.4, not 12). GHIN NUMBER. If you keep an official index, you can store your GHIN number on your profile. That's all it does today: groundwork. FINISHED TRIPS STAY FINISHED. Completing a trip freezes the results — scores, standings, money. So nobody edits the record in October. Chat and photos stay open, because the trash talk doesn't end when the trip does. And there's a summary card worth sharing.

Find your group, and talk to them. FIND FRIENDS BY NAME. You needed the exact email somebody signed up with, which is not a thing people know about each other. Search by name instead. Plus, a profile set to private stays unlisted. MESSAGE ANYONE. Tap a friend to open their profile (handicap, rounds, trips) and message them from there. Direct messages work from a profile or straight from the friends list. YOUR STATS, HONESTLY. A scramble is one ball for the whole side, so a -16 with three partners all taking the best shot was never your round. Those no longer count toward your average or your best. If your numbers moved, that is why, and one tap puts them back. You can filter any of it by date now too. ALSO FIXED - Filtering the Feed by expenses or closest-to-the-pin spun forever instead of showing what it found. It settles now, and says when there is nothing to show. - Signing in with Apple or Google could leave an account with no name on it, blank to everyone in the trip, and impossible for a friend to find. Fixed, and already put right for the accounts it happened to. - The Enter Score button could wrap onto four lines on a round with no trip.

A new look, and a watch app. THE APP LOOKS DIFFERENT. New icon, new type, new colour. Same app underneath, but easier to read at arm's length in bright sun, which is where it actually gets used. APPLE WATCH. Distances to the front, center and back of the green, measured on your wrist. Your score, the group's leaderboard, and a tap when the match moves. Your phone can stay in the cart. ON THE COURSE. The hole is drawn on the map now: the yardages, the pops you get, and the money riding on the hole, in one glance. ALSO NEW - A card on the Feed for whatever is happening right now - Start a round without a trip, then turn it into a match if the group turns up - Tap anyone's name to see their profile GONE - Manual shot recording. A month of using it produced zero taps, so it is out rather than sitting there looking like a feature.
