PassLocals is an offline-first app for securely storing and managing sensitive text information using physical NFC cards.
PassLocals is an offline-focused application designed for secure storage and management of sensitive textual data using physical NFC cards.
The app works with compatible NFC cards to read and write encrypted data. All information is processed and encrypted locally on the user’s device. PassLocals does not require account registration and does not automatically transmit user data to external servers.
Access to stored data is fully controlled by the user through authorized devices and NFC cards. The application functions as an interface for managing encrypted information stored on the card. Data remains under the user’s control and is accessible only from devices explicitly authorized by the user.
PassLocals supports a local role-based access model that allows managing permissions without relying on server-side, cloud, or SaaS infrastructure. Role management and access control are performed locally without sharing user data with third parties.
The available access roles include:
• Master — full system control, including device, card, and role configuration.
• Reserve Master — a backup role used to restore control if the primary Master device is lost.
• Reader — read-only access without permission to modify data.
• Assistant — can update NFC cards and perform write operations without access to the stored content.
PassLocals is intended for users who prefer offline workflows and physical access control over cloud-based services. It is designed for managing confidential textual information such as passwords, seed phrases, API keys, and other private notes.
For proper use of the application, users are strongly advised to review the usage instructions available on the official website.
Compatible NFC cards are required to use PassLocals. Removing the application may reset the local device identifier. Before uninstalling, users should ensure that access is configured on another authorized device assigned the Master or Reserve Master role.
