Steadier and smoother: pinch-zooming Home no longer blocks taps, crashes on some devices are fixed, and adding a plant is quicker than ever. Fern is the growth journal for people whose plants are a collection, not a chore. Snap a photo. Two taps to log a watering. Then watch a year of growth replay in one swipe - as a photo timeline, a before-and-after, or a video you can share. Built by staghorn fern (Platycerium) growers, refined by collectors who track everything. A TIMELINE THAT ACTUALLY SHOWS GROWTH Every photo you add builds a dated visual story. Swipe full-screen through months or years at full resolution, or let Fern stitch your best frames into a growth video. Add notes to any entry: what you changed, what worked, what didn't. TIME MACHINE & BEFORE / AFTER Fern picks a plant for you each day and replays it - then, now, and the gap between. The before/after split puts two dates side by side, so progress you'd never notice day to day becomes obvious. CARE LOGGING BUILT FOR MOUNTED PLANTS Water, feed, prune, remount, pest, algae - plus any care type you define yourself. Log a whole shelf in one batch, back-date the record you forgot yesterday, and set reminders per plant instead of a generic 7-day rule. Because a board that gets soaked is not a pot that gets watered. YOUR COLLECTION, YOUR STRUCTURE Species, acquisition date, source, mount type, growth stage (spore sowing to sporing adult), health, price, custom tags. Sixteen Platycerium species are built in and you can add your own - or use Fern for orchids, moss, and everything else on the shelf. Group and filter your collection eight different ways, then drill into any group. THE WALL Lay your collection out on an infinite canvas the way it actually hangs. Drag, zoom, add text labels and polaroids, pick a backdrop - then export the whole wall as a single image, or pin it to your Home Screen as a large widget. LINEAGE Link mother plants to their pups and build a family tree: which plant produced which offspring, when they were separated, how each generation turned out. Export the whole lineage as an image. WIDGETS, WATCH, APPLE TV Home Screen widgets in every size with configurable info tags, Lock Screen widgets, a Control Center button, a wall widget and a before/after widget. An Apple Watch app with complications for logging on the go. And an Apple TV app that turns your collection into a digital picture frame. SHARE YOUR COLLECTION Long-image collection summaries, single-plant share cards, photo albums, color collages, and printable plant tags. Hidden records stay hidden. Premium removes the watermark. STATS & TRENDS See how your collection grew over time, which sources you buy from most, your care streaks, and a calendar of everything you logged. NFC & NEARBY SHARING Write an NFC tag, tap it, and the care record is in - no unlocking, no scrolling. Meet another collector in person and hand over a plant profile with proximity sharing. SYNC & BACKUP Everything syncs through your own private iCloud across iPhone, iPad. Full backup and restore, CSV batch import, and a built-in diagnostics center, so your records are never a mystery. PRIVACY Your data lives on your device and in your personal iCloud account. No ads, no tracking, and your collection is never sold to anyone. WHO FERN IS FOR Collectors with 10, 50 or 200+ plants who need a real system. Growers who sow spores and want every stage documented. Sellers and traders who need organized records with photos and lineage. And anyone who tried a generic plant-care app and found the soil-watering advice useless for a mounted epiphyte. PRICING Free for up to 10 plants. Premium unlocks unlimited plants and every feature above - monthly, yearly, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Available in 15 languages. Made by staghorn fern lovers, for anyone who grows something worth watching. Terms of Use: https://elevenapril.com/terms Privacy Policy: https://elevenapril.com/privacy

The perfect archive for my Platycerium collection! 📸

StaghornPal is hands down the best app for fern lovers. The "Native iOS" design is incredibly smooth and looks stunning in Dark Mode. I used to keep track of my plants in a messy photo album, but now everything is organized. I particularly love the Long Screenshot export feature in the Growth Timeline—it allows me to generate a beautiful vertical image showing the entire evolution of my Ridleys from pup to trophy size. Being able to visualize the history of every new shield and frond is so satisfying. Plus, knowing my data stays on my device gives me peace of mind. Highly recommended!

This update is all about making Fern steadier and smoother. We fixed a few frustrating issues: after pinching to change the number of columns on Home, tapping a plant could stop opening it until you restarted the app — that's fixed. Occasional crashes when opening a plant page or Fern Wall on iOS 18, and when opening the camera without camera access, are fixed too, and launch is more reliable. Adding a plant now comes with a quick guide, a smoother input sheet, and faster photo loading.
