Improvements on lists, tags, stats and challenges across iPhone and the web application. New - If a renewal payment fails, your PRO plan says so and links to your payment details screen. - The Upcoming calendar can now swipe left or right to change the month. Fixed - Cancelling Did Not Finish during a re-read or rewatch could tell your friends you had started it again. - Book covers now filter out language that you've not selected in Settings. - You can quickly navigate to an item from the Tag management screen. - Plenty of bug fixes and polish.

Title pages now show More recs, similar titles you can add in one tap, and a new Details section with release dates, studios, budget and box office, platforms and more. Movies also list their director. Fixed - The review screen could sometimes say a rating or review was saved when it wasn't, for example offline, and a review that didn't save was lost. - Rating a podcast could open an empty screen, and a podcast added from Search could sometimes not sync to your account. - The app could freeze for a second just after opening, especially with a big library. - Games announced only for a year or quarter counted down to a guessed day, like 31 December. They now show 2026 or Q1 2027. - Discover's Upcoming and Trending could be slow to appear or get stuck loading after a refresh. - Music search missed titles with accents, so "beyonce" didn't find Beyoncé. - Plenty of bug fixes and polish.

LaterRex no longer uses iCloud, so it won't ask you to turn on iCloud Drive. Settings got reorganized to make them easier to navigate. Fixed - A big import could sometimes leave titles you'd finished in your Backlog or drop their ratings and reviews, and Letterboxd or Trakt exports re-zipped on a Mac wouldn't import. - Editing a list could make it public again if you'd made it private on another device. - Adding a recommendation you'd opened from Notifications didn't save the recommender on it. - Some settings, like search languages, could stay on your iPhone instead of reaching the web and your other devices. - Plenty of bug fixes and polish.

The People tab is now Community, home to your friends' activity, their reviews, friend requests and every recommendation between you. New - Ask your friends for a rec from Community. They can answer and send you recommendations to help you find something new. - You can now import your books from Hardcover. - Books with no release date yet show as TBA. Fixed - Removing a title from your Library just after adding it could crash the app in rare cases. - Importing again could make a second copy of your lists, and a big import could sometimes leave a few titles off a list. - The Notifications badge could stay lit with nothing to clear. - The Upcoming calendar sometimes opened on a later month than the first thing in the list. - Plenty of bug fixes and polish.

LaterRex is going spooky for Halloween! There's a new app icon for October, and the Halloween Marathon challenge opens in Discover on 6 October. Complete it to earn Slasher Rex, our scariest Rex yet! New - Share a Discover Set from its page. Anyone without the app can open it on the web. - DNF a book and your journal records it, like "Stopped on p. 142". Those pages now count in your reading stats. - Remove something from your Library and add it back later, and it keeps its status, tags, who recommended it and, for a show, the episodes you watched. Fixed - A shared list's link kept working after you made the list or your profile private. - A friend accepted from a notification could take up to half an hour to show up in your friends list. - Your page in a book could drift by a page or two when its page count, edition or format changed. - Tapping a friend's avatar in Friends activity could be slow to open their profile - it's now instant. - Plenty of bug fixes and polish.

New - Trailers for movies, shows or games are now listed in the app. - Added Threads as a source you can credit for a recommendation. Fixed - Your ratings and reviews could sometimes look missing on your phone until you restarted the app. - Search could hide well-known titles in other languages, like Parasite or Attack on Titan. - Continue cards could mark the wrong episode if you had skipped a season. When your next episode isn't out yet, the card and the Continue Watching widget now say when it airs. - Marking an episode as watched on the day a new one aired could send that episode's reminder a second time. - Some episode stills could stay blank for shows you followed as they aired. - Plenty of bug fixes and polish.

Challenges are here! Add, finish and rate enough of a Discover Set's titles before the timer runs out to earn a limited-time avatar. First up is the Regency Challenge, and its prize is Regency Rex, a Legendary avatar. New - News and events now show as dismissible cards at the top of your Notifications. - You can now queue something you've already finished once, so you can plan a rewatch, re-read or replay. Fixed - More improvements on Imports - sometimes they could pick the wrong title, like a sequel or another author's book with the same name, skip one you didn't have yet, or undo your own changes when you imported again. Matching is much more careful now, and importing again only fills in what's missing. - Previewing an item not in your Library wasn't showing it's full page details. - Something you deleted in the web app could stay on your phone, or even come back. - Deleting an item from its own page could crash the app in rare cases. - A book's page count or audiobook length could stay blank until you reopened the app. - An item that was in progress and in Queue would not show up in Continue. - Plenty of smaller fixes and polish.

Imports got a complete overhaul. Hand over the file Letterboxd, Trakt, IMDb, TV Time or Goodreads sends you, zip or csv, and LaterRex reads the lot: your ratings, your reviews, your lists and the dates you actually watched or read things. New - Trakt and TV Time imports bring your episode progress across, so a show you are part way through arrives that way. - Goodreads, Trakt, TV Time, Letterboxd and IMDb imports now carry reviews, re-reads/watches, notes and lists/shelfs. - Imports keep running when you leave the app. Start a big one, lock your phone, and come back to it finished. - Every item on a List can carry a short note saying why it's there. - See everyone who worked on a film or show, and what a person directed, wrote or shot, not just what they appeared in. Fixed - Finishing or cancelling a re-read or a rewatch could be recorded only on your phone, so it came back wrong on the web and after a reinstall. - Imports were getting your history wrong: stamped with the day you ran them, every show you had ever started marked finished, and a rating could go missing. Trakt, IMDb and TV Time now keep your real dates, and a re-import fixes what came in before. - Plenty of polish and smaller fixes across the app.

LaterRex is celebrating! Open the app before the end of 2026 to claim Trailblazer Rex, a free Epic avatar. New: - Upcoming now shows when the next episodes of the shows you're watching air, on the calendar and on your Library home. Fixed: - A show with a new season on the way no longer behaves as if the whole show were unreleased. - Logging how far through a book you are, or how many hours you've put into a game, now starts it instead of leaving it sitting in your Backlog. - Posters that aren't portrait, like square audiobook covers, no longer spill out of place in the widgets. - Removing someone who recommended something to you and adding them back no longer loses the date they recommended it or the note that came with it.

The Library gets a glow up! It's now easier than ever to see what you've recently added, are partway through or what is next in your queue. LaterRex is celebrating! Open the app before the end of 2026 to claim Trailblazer Rex, a free Epic avatar. New: - Keep track of what you've seen on the big screen and on what format: IMAX, Dolby, 3D and more. - Track which formats you own, and the edition, platform or store for each book & game. Note what you have borrowed and when it is due back, or who has the copy you lent out. - You can now set a custom value for how many pages your book copy has or how long your audiobook is. - You can now send a recommendation to someone right from the Library screen. - Bulk adding items to Lists & Tags is now faster and much easier to navigate. - Sort or group any library category by your own rating. Fixed: - An item you added could disappear from your library if it never reached our servers. Those are kept and retried now, instead of being removed. - Opening something you had already finished, from a notification or from your stats, could tell your friends you had just finished it again. - An unreleased game's screenshots and trailers were greyed out and would not open, which is the one thing there is to look at before it comes out. - Something releasing today stays in Upcoming for the whole day, instead of vanishing mid-morning. - Plenty of minor bug fixes and polish across the app.

Added - Books can now be added in one tap from search and Trending, with the same plus button everything else has. Fixed - A movie that had already come out could still show as unreleased, and marking it watched would not save. - Widgets could keep showing old information if you left the app at the wrong moment. - The friend button on someone's profile now updates while you are looking at it, instead of waiting until you leave and come back. Tapping it no longer sends a second request to someone who has just sent you one. - Adding a friend or following someone could flip back visually, despite the request being sent. - The Add Friend and Follow buttons did nothing for the first few seconds after opening the app. - Some music could be filed as the wrong kind, so a song showed album screens and never corrected itself. - The recommendations you had credited to someone could quietly disappear, either when you linked them to their LaterRex account or a contact, or when the app tidied up duplicate people in the background. - Fixed a bug where updating the app could permanently remove items from your library, if your previous version had never finished loading it from iCloud. - The Recommended by filter in your library listed everyone you are friends with, not just the people who have actually recommended you something.

- TV Watch Time was stuck at zero. It now counts properly, and your Total Media Time includes it. - Once you had pinned a stat to your profile there was no way to remove it. You can now clear them. - Account deletion could get stuck if iCloud was signed out.

Added - A lot of what you save comes from a reel or a subreddit rather than a person, so you can now credit Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Reddit, Facebook and Pinterest for a recommendation, alongside podcasts, newsletters and anything else you name. - Share an item and the link now opens a real page for it, with the artwork, the description, ratings and cast, so whoever you send it to can see what you mean without an account or the app. Fixed - Fixed signing up failing with an iCloud error for some new users. - Accounts with music in their library could get permanently stuck on backing up their library.

Added - Sync Details in Settings now shows your Episode Watches count. - Music now has its own place in Library Stats, showing your songs, albums and artists. Fixed - The Recs Sent number in Library Stats only counted recommendations you sent from the device you were holding, so it reported low for anyone who has reinstalled or changed phones. - The avatar you earn by sending recommendations could stay locked long after you had earned it. - Episodes marked watched on the web could never appear on your phone if you hadn't opened that show's episode list on the device. - Signing up and importing a library in the same session could leave account sync half set up until the next app start; it now finishes right away. - Reinstalling the app could lose watched-episode history for a show whose episode numbering had changed - Plenty of bug fixes and polish across the app.

Added - A new sync service to ensure your library is up to date on any device or platform. - You can now add a newly released TV Show season to your queue. - Tagging a friend as a recommender to something you have already finished now asks whether to let them know you've finished it. Changed - Sync Details in Settings now shows when the app last checked for changes made elsewhere, using the new sync service. - Several recommendations from the same friend at once only showed up as one, now they come in grouped. Fixed - A film you watched on release day could quietly go back to Backlog, and marking it watched again wouldn't stick. - An imported item that failed to save to your account could quietly disappear from your library later on. - A friend finishing something you recommended could show up twice in your notifications. - Reinstalling the app, or using it on a second device, could tell a friend a second time about something you had already finished. - The recommended by box could keep showing users as 'pending', long after they had been notified. - Songs you rated or finished in Spin Through were only saved on the device, so they could go missing after a reinstall. They now save to your account like everything else. - A username with accented letters looked available, then failed at the last step of signing up. The screen now tells you what's wrong as you type. - In Library Stats, tapping a media type under By Type just opened Library Stats again instead of that type's breakdown. The Fun Facts cards had the same problem and now open the item. - Plenty of bug fixes and polish across the app.

Added - A new Queue screen: an easy way to manage your library and stay on top of what to do next. Long press anything in your library to add it to the queue or take it out. - Can't find an item in your library? Add it quickly from the 'no results' screen. - A show that comes back for a new season now says New Season, instead of looking like you stopped watching it halfway. - Friend Activity now includes season they (and you!) finish. Finishing the last season of an airing TV show correctly fires off an activity for it. - You now get notified when a show you've caught up on back with a new season. - You can now reorder items in a List into whatever order you want, from the new Edit Order screen. Fixed - List covers went missing and showed as empty slots you could not fill. Your old covers work again, and you can set new ones. - Resolved an issue where the 'Pro' badge wasn't showing for some accounts. - Tapping a book in a series now works anywhere on the row, not just on the title or the arrow. - A book's series tag no longer promises more books than the series actually lists. - Plenty of bug fixes and polish across the app.

LaterRex has moved off iCloud onto its own sync service. Your library, friends and activity now live on your LaterRex account, so changes save straight away, notifications are more reliable, and everything comes back if you reinstall. New: - Your library now lives on your LaterRex account instead of iCloud. - Your activity feed includes people you follow, not just mutual friends. Fixed: - Goodreads imports now keep your read dates and star ratings, instead of dating every book to the day you imported and dropping the ratings. Already imported? Run it again and the app fills in what was missing - Rating something marked DNF no longer flips it back to Finished, and rating something unfinished no longer loses the private rating - Signing in on a second device no longer asks you to pick a username when you already have an account - In-app notifications that appear while a window is open are no longer hidden behind it - Search is faster and no longer looks blank while results load. - New titles show their poster on the Coming Soon widget right away, instead of a blank square until you reopened the app - Plenty of bug fixes and polish across the app

Fixed - Your chosen avatar no longer resets to the default after restarting the app - Music albums added from a recommendation now load their full details instead of showing up empty sometimes - Spin Through no longer alerts a friend the moment you rate the first song; it waits until you finish the album - Marking episodes watched is easier: the checkmark was a bit too hard to press, it's now more responsive - The reviews screen now matches the app's card style
