Every tolerance value rebuilt from ISO 286-1 and 286-2. Hole and shaft deviations, fit classification, press-fit pressure and force. Offline, no account, no tracking. ToleranceLab helps engineers pick ISO 286 fits and understand what those selections mean in the real world. Enter a nominal size, choose hole- or shaft-basis classes, and get clearance/interference results with a simple visual that labels the resulting diameters. Use the guided fit intent picker to match common engineering goals (free running, locational, transition, or interference) and jump into the built-in reference guide for definitions and ISO fit recommendations. When a press fit is detected, ToleranceLab estimates contact pressure and axial force using selectable compliance models and material data, with warnings and assumptions shown alongside results. Switch between metric and imperial units, explore fit classes quickly, and keep a practical reference at hand for design and manufacturing decisions. Disclaimer: ToleranceLab is provided as a general engineering reference tool only. All results and calculations are estimates based on standard formulas, assumptions, and user-supplied inputs. This release corrects the ISO 286 calculations. Results now match the published standard, so values differ from previous versions for most fit classes — interference fits especially. • Rebuilt the ISO 286 tolerance tables. Hole and shaft deviations, tolerance grades, and the finer nominal size ranges now follow ISO 286-1 and ISO 286-2 exactly. • Fixed inch mode, which showed millimetre values labelled as inches. Diameters entered in inches are converted properly, and results are shown to a useful precision. • Fixed press-fit contact pressure and assembly force, which read about 10% high, and the warnings now use the materials and friction you enter. • Corrected the shaft-basis interference recommendations, which suggested clearance fits. • English now appears as a supported language. • Added titles to the Reference and Settings tabs, localized the theme setting, and improved VoiceOver support. • Diameters outside the supported range, and tolerance classes ISO does not define at a given size, are now explained instead of showing a blank result.
