Med Deutsch 1.0.11 is our biggest language update yet — and it fixes the launch crash some of you saw on iOS 26. Thank you for the reports. THREE NEW LEARNING LANGUAGES Every screen, every explanation and every course chapter is now available in Modern Standard Arabic, peninsular Spanish and European Portuguese. That means the full A1 to B2 curriculum, the Fachsprachprüfung (FSP) preparation track, grammar notes, vocabulary lists, dialogue translations and exercise feedback — all in your language, not just the menus. Pick your language once in Settings; the app remembers it. Together with English, Bangla, Hindi, Urdu and Turkish, Med Deutsch now teaches medical German in eight languages. FIXED: TRANSLATIONS SWITCHING BACK TO ENGLISH If you chose Arabic, Spanish or Portuguese and the content flipped to English after a second or two, that is resolved. Course content is refreshed from our servers in the background, and the server copy had not yet been updated with the new languages. It has now — your chosen language stays put. FIXED: CRASH ON LAUNCH (iOS 26) Some learners on iOS 26 saw the app close immediately after opening. This was caused by a background request to a service that is not yet live, which triggered a fault in a third-party library. The request is now disabled until that service ships, and the app starts normally. AI-GRADED SPEAKING AND WRITING Record your answer to a clinical prompt — a patient history, a handover, explaining a diagnosis — and get graded feedback in seconds: pronunciation and fluency for speaking, structure, register and medical terminology for writing, plus a corrected model answer. Feedback is written in your learning language, so you understand exactly what to improve. Cold-start time for the first recording has been cut sharply. FULL EXAM-FORMAT MOCK TESTS Sit complete simulations of the telc Deutsch B1/B2 Medizin and FSP formats: listening, reading, writing and speaking, timed like the real thing. Writing and speaking sections are AI-graded so you get a realistic score, not just an answer key. Studio-quality audio is streamed for listening sections; if it is not available yet for an item, the app falls back to on-device speech so you can keep practising. COURSE CONTENT UPDATES • Writing tasks now use word limits that match each CEFR level, so A1 learners are not asked for B2-length texts. • Chapter dialogues have been rewritten to sound like real ward, practice and emergency-room conversations, with new recordings. • Course content and audio are delivered from the cloud, so we can correct and extend chapters without waiting for an app update. Everything you have already opened is cached and works offline. SIGN-UP AND ACCOUNT • Fixed: the verification code e-mail was not being sent for some new accounts during sign-up. • Sign in with Apple and Google continue to work as before. SMALLER CHANGES • The rating prompt now appears at most every other day, and stops once you have rated. • Minimum iOS version is now iOS 15. • Under-the-hood build fixes for a cleaner, smaller app. WHAT’S NEXT We are working on a server-side evaluation service so AI grading runs without any credentials on the device, and on adding more languages. Writing and speaking answers are graded against the official criteria and returned with per-criterion feedback. • Speaking practice now accepts a recorded answer, not only a typed one, and grading is noticeably faster on the first attempt of a session. • Listening and dialogue audio streams and caches on demand, so the app installs smaller and new course material reaches you without an update. • Writing tasks now show the word range expected at your level. More fixes • Sign-up verification codes are delivered reliably. • Recordings survive scrolling and collapsing a section during mock tests. • Playback is no longer silenced by the ring switch, and no longer stays quiet after you record an answer. • Right-to-left layout corrections throughout the Urdu interface. • Faster, more reliable start-up.
