Why Keychain Access is Safe and Secure
Claude Usage Battery requires access to your macOS Keychain to securely read Claude Code authentication credentials stored there by the 'claude' CLI. The app only reads existing OAuth tokens from the specific “Claude Code-credentials” item using Apple’s Security framework with precise filters. These tokens are sent exclusively to Anthropic’s official API (api.anthropic.com) for usage limit checks and never stored elsewhere, modified, or shared with third parties.
No passwords, personal data, or other Keychain items are accessed. First launch explains this transparently; you can revoke access anytime via System Settings or by deleting the Keychain item. The app handles all errors securely without exposing sensitive information.
