New: Listen to YouTube. Paste or share a public video link, then hear its available transcript with CastReader voices, synced highlighting, and automatic scrolling.
CastReader turns any text into something you can hear and understand.
LISTEN TO YOUTUBE — HEAR PUBLIC TRANSCRIPTS
Paste or share a public YouTube video link. When a public transcript is available, CastReader reads the caption text aloud with its own voices, synchronized highlighting, and automatic scrolling. CastReader does not play, download, save, or convert the original video or audio. Availability depends on the video’s public captions and your region.
READ ALOUD — STAY FOCUSED
Turn photos, web pages, PDFs, EPUBs, documents, and books into natural speech. Synchronized highlighting and automatic scrolling keep your eyes and ears on the same sentence while you study, commute, exercise, or rest your eyes.
AI EXPLAIN — GO BEYOND THE WORDS
CastReader creates and reads a clear explanation while handwritten-style annotations appear on the original: highlights for key points, circles around important terms, and numbered steps.
BRING YOUR OWN CONTENT

I used to send every PDF to my Kindle, but with dyslexia I still struggled to keep my place. CastReader’s read-aloud highlighting makes long documents much easier to follow without feeling cluttered. Simple, focused, and genuinely useful.
Won’t replace audible but good for books with no audiobook version

The app is a big buggy and stumbles over contractions and place names. However, it’s way better than having Alexa or Siri read. It’s obvious it’s AI and it pauses at the end of pages, but it’s usable. For some reason I have not been able to read books when I used to read several a week so audio books are my only option. Cast reader has allowed me to listen to old favorites without cringing (I have aphantasia so sound quality is extremely important to me without visual images to distract me.)
Kindle sync could be easier

The voices and highlighting are good. First time Kindle setup was a little confusing though.
Explain is more useful than I expected

The Ai explanation is good when a paragraph is dense. I like that it marks the original instead of replacing it with a generic summary 👍
• Improved email verification-code sign-in reliability, with clearer sending status and feedback for slow, offline, or timed-out requests.
• Improved Listen to YouTube transcript reading with more accurate speaker changes and caption-language handling, plus more reliable synchronized highlighting and resume positions.
• Fixed freezes and cumulative slowdowns after opening multiple videos; generated speech now uses session-only temporary storage and is cleaned up automatically.
