Chronicle Engines has been rebuilt as a monochrome story terminal. Case files, choices, tools, settings, onboarding, and sealed endings now share one precise black-and-white system with left-aligned commands, square rules, clearer spacing, and pixel-built genre art. The play loop now echoes the command you filed before the engine responds, keeps response choices in one continuous command list, and defaults fresh installs to the dark console while preserving your saved appearance. Native navigation, Dynamic Type, VoiceOver, Reduce Motion, and save-safe recovery remain intact.

Chronicle Engines now reads like a case file. A warm paper ground replaces cards and glass on the page, sections are ruled instead of boxed, every choice is a numbered action slip with its consequence spelled out, and a finished story closes under a sealed graphite cover. Settings, onboarding, recovery, and the private archive now share the same Folio material. Slip signals and consequence hints appear in every supported language.

Completed scenes now recover safely from a failed save without regenerating or duplicating your last story turn. The recovery panel makes it clear when only the save needs another try.

Fixes home navigation overlap and restores reliable Case Tools and midpoint reopening. Improves dark-mode contrast, onboarding and subscription clarity, and completes localization coverage across supported languages.

Undo now safely stops a story response that is still being generated, so you can reverse a choice and continue playing without the case desk becoming unresponsive.

Chronicle Engines now follows your iPhone's Light and Dark appearance automatically, while still letting you pin the Archive or Lacquer surface in Settings. This update also fixes a home-header overlap that could appear when returning from the App Store.

Chronicle Engines 2.6 introduces a redesigned Case Desk and choice deck, richer archives, and improved narration and export tools. Saved cases now recover more reliably after interrupted writes, incomplete online responses are never committed as finished scenes, and story continuity is safer across loads, undo, and migration.
